It is Halloween month and my most favourite time of the year to see spooky makeup looks and ghoulish nails. Other than Halloween though, the beauty front will be a little quiet for new launches this October. There were just over 50 products keeping me busy to consider for my monthly favourites but I got through them and I have come up with these top picks.

Don’t forget to tell me what has taken your fancy this month!

Hair

Head & Shoulders

With the weather heating up in Australia I know my itchy scalp is going to flare up as soon as I break a sweat. When the time comes, I will have the new Head & Shoulders Apple Fresh shampoo and conditioner on hand to calm it down. Apple is one of my all time favourite scents, and the refreshing formula of this hair duo will cool my scalp in one wash.

Australia $5.99 from supermarkets / USA $5.99 from Walgreens and Drugstore.com / UK £4.99 from Boots

They are a celebration in a bottle, which manifests to a burst of shining sunshine on the nails and they are taking pride placement in my nail collection. The colours include Blue, Red, Gold, Violet, Silver and Bronze.

Napoleon Perdis

Continuing on with his current love of Nude, Napoleon has created The Ultimate Nude Palette. Not surprisingly, it really is the ultimate palette of nudes. The all matte palette consists of 8 eye shadows and 4 highlighting & contouring neutral blush tones, making a perfect nude look as simple as opening the lid of the cute compact. Each shade compliments another and there are unlimited ways to create an individual look.

From October 14 – Australia $79 at Napoleon Perdis / USA $49 (tbc) from Nordstrom, Beauty.com and ULTA / UK – Not available

Max Factor

This is the first time Max Factor have ever made my monthly favourites list but their new Colour Effect Flipstick is a product well worth the placement. Combining two lipsticks in one easy-to-carry tube, the new Flipsticks make colour coordinating super easy. The dual-ended lipsticks have two complimenting shades that look great alone or when combined together. Colours include Gypsy Red, Mosaic Mauve, Bloomy Pink, Melody Brown, Folky Pink and Boreal Mauve.

Australia $21.95 from Priceline and variety stores / USA – Not available / UK £8.49 from Boots and Superdrug

Australis Cosmetics

I am not a huge lipgloss fan since I finally worked out how to wear lipstick properly, but this summer I think I will be embracing the bright, colourful glosses like these newbies from Australis. Colour Inject Mineral Lip Gloss in Polka (Pink) and Fandango (Orange) are two neon hues that will make your smile radiate. The semi-sheer formula isn’t sticky at all and it has the most delicious fruity scent.

Australia $11.95 from Australis Cosmetics, Priceline and variety stores.

Dannè Montague-King (DMK)

The Klear Collection by DMK is what I consider the new frontier in fighting adolescent and adult acne. It is all about what is NOT in it instead of what is. There are NO Paraben, NO Sulfate and NO Benzoyl Peroxide. It took three years but the 5-piece prescriptive skincare range is going to change lives. I can feel it!

Available exclusively from DMK.

NUXE Paris

This month Australia welcomes the arrival of French natural luxury brand, NUXE. The pharmacy stocked line of skincare is a huge hit in France, with their main hero product being Huile Prodigieuse, a true multi-purpose dry oil for face, body and hair. I am loving this oil and there is a shimmering version that will be great for summer.

50ml Australia – $24.95 from selected pharmacies / USA $30 from Beauty.com, SkinStore.com and Cosme-De.com / UK £28.50 from Space NK

Their Cocoa Butter range of lotions and body products are famous, but this month Palmer’s are going pink all in the name of breast cancer awareness. Buy any specially marked Palmer’s product and they will give 30c from each sale bottle to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This is an Australian only promotion but if you are keen to help with breast cancer fundraising check out my top beauty picks globally supporting Pink Ribbon month.
