Wasn’t the 2014 Golden Globes just fabulous? I don’t know why this award season is impressing me so much but I truly think the beauty looks have been incredible. There were 4 stand-out looks in my opinion and I’m going to show you exactly how to achieve them thanks to the experts who created them. Will your favourite celebrity be on my list? Will you try one of these beauty looks? I can’t wait to find out.
I’m not playing favourites here but you have to admit Cate really did Australia proud. Her black lace Armani dress made her luminous skin do all the talking. As an SK-II global ambassador, Cate Blanchett let us in on how she achieved her glow:
As with any important event, I am slightly more indulgent with my skincare routine in the lead up. My daily ritual has long been the SK-II LxP Ultimate Perfecting Series with SK-II Facial Treatment Essence but I will complement this with other SK-II treatment products that help to give my skin that added boost. I’ve not been able to do this as much I would have liked recently but relaxing in a warm bath with an SK-II Facial Treatment Mask each week leaves my skin feeling that much more rejuvenated. The reality has been more like a mask on the plane lately.
With skin like that she didn’t need much makeup but here is how Makeup Artist Jeanine Lobell created Cate’s soft and romantic look:
Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Custom Volume Mascara – Jeanine piled on layers and layers to both the top and bottom lash line, combined with individual flares, to create dramatic lashes.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Intuition and Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Emervielle – By blending the pinky-beige and goldy-beige shades and dusting them from the lid to the lash line, in addition to adding a pop of Emervielle to the lid, Jeanine was able to create dimension without using any liners.
Nars Brow Shader and Brow Gel – Creates a defined but not too harsh brow.
SK-II Facial Treatment Mask – The essential prep product.
Nars Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love Lancôme Translucence Mattifying Silky Press Powder - Jeanine layered both powders in order to highlight Cate’s defined cheekbones.
Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in #502 Scarlatto and #509 Boudoir – Layer #509 Boudoir (a nude rose) on top of 502 #Scarlatto (a raspberry rose).

Despite the fact the woman never appears to age, I think she dresses for the her age impeccably. The stunning 46-year old starlet wore a mens-inspired black-and-white dress by Dolce & Gabanna, but it was the makeup that really impressed with the nude lip and smokey eye combo. Julia kept it simple and didn’t try to do a look that was too young or too hip, and that’s what we love about her. Here’s what Makeup Artist Genevieve Herr used to create the smokey look for the Lancôme’s ambassador.
Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation
Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette in Nectar Lace
Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in It List and The New Black
Lancôme Liner Design Gel EyeLiner in Black Fishnets
Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Lashes Mascara
Lancôme Rouge in Love in Lasting Kiss
You may know her as Marnie from Girls, or you may not know her at all, but her makeup at the Golden Globes was a knockout. We couldn’t look past those piercing eyes which were lined to perfection. Avon Global Celebrity Makeup Artist, Lauren Andersen, created the sultry look tot compliment Allison’s black-and-white gown. Here’s how you can recreate it:
- First, Lauren groomed Allison’s brows with Votre Vu Brow Wax.
- Next, she played up Allison’s baby blue eyes with a classic smokey eye using Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Urban Skyline.
- Lauren lined her eyes with Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blackest Black and then coated lashes with Avon Mega Effects Mascara.
- On Allison’s face, Lauren applied YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation and then dusted on Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light.
- Lauren swiped Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Petal on the apples of Allison’s cheeks.
- To complete the look, Lauren applied Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick in Ripe Rose.
Another Aussie beauty, Naomi was a stand-out in her burgundy Zac Posen gown. With such a bold coloured gown it’s was perfect that Naomi kept her makeup very clean and minimal while still looking every bit of a movie star. Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff paired a defined eye with a blushing nude lip.
A mix of peach and pink were blended to the apples of the cheek and the top of the cheekbone. Lancôme Artliner 24H was used first as a base and then blended to create a shining golden eye. Dubroff used a mix of lipstick and gloss to give her lip a glowing effect. Here are the Lancôme products used to create the look:
Lancôme Dual Finish All Day Wear Versatile Powder Makeup
Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation
Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette Blush & Glow Trio in Ménage Á Trois Kissed
Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee
Lancôme Artliner 24H in Gold
Lancôme Définicils Mascara
Lancôme Rouge in Love in Lasting Kiss

Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick #508
