Discover the best of the best new beauty products with my Best New Beauty September round-up.
The long awaited makeup collection from Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty, Fenty Beauty, is finally here. Other than the fact it’s been created by one of our fave superstar’s, Fenty Beauty appears to be a more diverse offering than we’ve seen from other celebrity-turned-beauty gurus. Naturally, we would expect BadGalRiRi to cater to darker skintones and women of colour, but she hasn’t stopped there, pale skinned babes get more options too!. Her Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation boasts a massive 40 shade offering! The collection launches with complexion products – foundation, concealer, primer, contour and highlight, makeup brushes, sponge and a single-shade lip gloss, Universal Lip Luminizer.
Tanning and toning in one. That’s the premise behind the new look SkinnyTan. Incorporating the cellulite-fighting active Guarana, it’s the first self-tanner to tan and tone skin at the same time. It’s also one of the best choices for health and environmentally conscious beauty shoppers – SkinnyTan has no nasty chemicals, parabens or sulphates, is vegan friendly and cruelty free. Their DHA is 100% natural and has been organically processed, plus they reduced the fake tan smell and replaced it with coconut and caramel scent instead. Yummy!
If you loved the Too Faced Sweet Peach collection you will love the next edition. This month the USA gets their hands on the Peaches & Cream collection, a broader collection of makeup infused with that delicious peach scent. Too Faced are touting it as “…..the next generation of comfort matte makeup that creates a soft-focused, color-correcting, comfortable velvet finish”. The range consists of Peach Perfect Foundation, Primed & Peachy Primer, Peach Mist Setting Spray, Just Peachy Mattes eyeshadow palette and so much more!
Australia – This collection will not be made available in Australia.
UK – Too Faced
VIP Private Show eau de parfum is the latest fragrance from our girl, Britney. That’s Britney, Bitch! I adore her fragrances, they’re always delightful and this one is no different. Described as “taking inspiration from the thrill of being up-close and personal with the world-famous star, VIP Private Show is a seductive, fruity oriental that transports you to a place of magic and excitement.” Of course, like all Britney fragrances, this one comes in a gorgeous bottle – glittering pink in a faceted glass fitted with a golden gem cap.
Australia $29 from Priceline and selected pharmacies
USA $33 from Kohls
UK £23 from Boots
Nip + Fab
One of my absolute favourite products from Nip + Fab are their Glycolic Fix pads. However, I know that not everyone loves the kick these can give the skin but now you can get their goodness with a gentler touch. The Glycolic Fix Daily Gentle Pads are new and your best option for sensitive skin. It mixes fruit acids and glycolic to gentle resurface the skin.
USA $14.95 from Nip + Fab
UK £14.95 from Nip + Fab
Facial faux tanning doesn’t get as much attention as our bodies but this months new launch from St Tropez is something your body can’t get. The Bronzing Face Sheet Mask promises a hydrating, dewy glow that evens out skin tone and develops into a long-lasting golden tan. You can customise just how much of a tan you get by how long you keep the mask on: 5 minutes for light, 10 minutes for medium and 15 minutes for deeper, golden tan. No rinsing required!
Liquid lipsticks get a hot new contender from Revlon with Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Metallic Matte. They’re metallic. They’re matte. They smell delicious, like a creamy-fruity mix. Available in 8 shades, the liquid lippie contains Revlon’s wax-free gel technology so they are soft, lightweight and not too drying on the lips. All your fave metallic shades are on the menu, including Rose Gold (named HD Gleam).

The divine newbie from Katy Perry isn’t a tune, it’s a scent, and it’s something more mature than we’ve seen from Katy previously. Katy Perry INDI is a musk fragrance for women, that combines eleven different musks with top notes of oriental plum and Italian bergamot. The combination of fresh muguet and white cedar wood mingle with the velvety warmth of amber and vanilla in the background. The eau de parfum has top notes of white tea, oriental plum and Italian bergamot; heart notes of fresh muguet, cyclamen and white cedar wood; and base notes of amber sultan, vanilla tonka and seductive musks. The bottle is uniquely delightful black & white theme accented with gold. Two sides of the bottle contain a special embossed message of empowerment from Katy Perry, ‘Put the U in Individual’. Special, huh?
Australia $39 (30mL) from Priceline
USA $24.99 (30mL) from Walgreens
UK £28 (50mL) from Superdrug
Clean Blonde Violet Tri-Blo is something truly unique. We’ve all heard of heat protection sprays and they’re great. An essential for me! But what if I could address another one of my most annoying needs along with heat protection? Let’s say, banishing brassiness from my blonde locks? That’s what this product says it can do, and I’m ecstatic about it! The formula contains Invisi-Shield Technology to provide heat protection up to 235-degrees and defend against heat-induced damage and brassiness. Spray, style … that’s it.
Australia $21.99 from Priceline and leading salons
USA & UK – Unavailable at time of publishing.
September is the month of Liptember, a charitable initiative to raise funds for women’s mental health. I’ve always been outspoken about my own battles with mental health issues but one thing I probably haven’t mentioned is that it’s hella expensive. Purchasing an official Liptember lipstick, made by W7, is one way to contribute to the worthy cause. This year there are new pastel shades too!
Australia $4.99 from Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and My Beauty Spot stores.
USA & UK – Unavailable at time of publishing.
