I am beyond excited about the upcoming Disney release of The Great & Powerful Oz. The Wizard of Oz is still one of my all time favourite movies and I have no doubt this prequel will answer some of my many questions about that magical original cinematic masterpiece. The fact it stars James Franco is just the cherry on top of a very large ice cream sundae. But leaving that aside for the moment, I am now even more excited to hear that the next movie alignment for OPI will in fact be this Disney hit-to-be. That’s right, there will be a nail polish collection for The Great & Powerful Oz …. and I have the first look, sneak peek for you today!
The collection will be released under their existing Soft Shades collection (which is usually pastels) but the 7-piece collection includes a notable difference with a hot new hue in their new Liquid Sand texture (making its grand debut in the Mariah Carey collection due out next month) in what looks to be a bold bronze. The other shades include three pearlescent sheers and three sparkle-packed glitters.
A limited edition collection like this one is going to go quick but the good news is you have until March 2013 to prepare your piggy bank. So let’s take a closer look at these cuties!
The shades (from left to right) are What Wizardry Is This?, Lights of Emerald City, When Monkeys Fly, I Theodora You, Don’t Burst My Bubble, Which Is Witch? and Glints of Glinda.
I can tell you now that if you see these “on sale” sooner they will not be legit so stick to the official announcement for when they go on sale (I will make that for you, don’t worry!) and only their known authorised stockists. These movie collaborations are closely guarded but the black/grey markets love to whip up some falsies based on images.
What do you think of this new Soft Shades collection from OPI? Will you give it a try? Will you see the movie? Let me know by commenting below!
