Sephora’s Australian store opening in Sydney was the biggest thing to happen to Australian beauty fans this year. It was a highly anticipated and despite a lot of negativity from some of the online community overall the launch was a massive success. The majority of people are happy or accepting of the pricing but with a lot of the final brand details withheld until opening day, I haven’t been able to give you a run-down of the brands and products that impressed me most. That changes today!
This is your guide to the must-view, must-play and must-buy brands and products available at Sephora Australia.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
The queen of brows still has some of the best brow products on the market. Top picks include the brow powder duo and her eyeshadow palettes.
Their Ecocert certified makeup is a big win for anyone, not just Greenies, but it’s their makeup brushes that win me over. The wooden handles have me believing I’m a real artist and all their brushes are certified vegan.
So good to have an Aussie brand showcased by the global powerhouse that is Sephora. These luxurious body products are inspired by one of my favourite Melbourne spas, Aurora.
The lipstick of all lipsticks. If you love to rock a bold or bright lip, you need a Bite lippy. Head straight for the High Pigment Pencils.
The complexion range for everyone can be found at Cover FX. No matter your colour, undertone, skin condition or irritation you have, Cover FX will have a solution for you. My votes go to the concealers and their entire range is vegan!
Elizabeth and James
The Nirvana fragrances have to be one of the greatest things Ashley & Mary-Late Olsen created. I’m a big fan of the Black but I wouldn’t say no to the White either. I’ve also heard you can layer them!
I’ve already raved about IT Cosmetics but what can I say, they really impress me. The beauty line with a problem-solving focus is contributing to new ideas and innovation. Also, they do some killer eyeshadow palettes.
Kat Von D
The tattooing superstar brought her rockstar game for the big launch. Kat attended the VIP launch party in Sydney to celebrate the milestone. I was just glad to see her incredible line of Studded Lipsticks and Tattoo Liner were on the shelves.
Make Up For Ever
If you want to take epic selfies than MUFE’s line of professional makeup is what you need. The HD range is a go to for makeup artists and their colour palettes are equally appealing to consumers of all skill levels.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics
A huge hit with indie makeup brand devotees and the cruelty-free community, OCC’s line of edgy, colourful cosmetics is growing rapidly. Their Lip Tars were once only known to makeup artists but with the rise of bloggers and vloggers, the brand has reached new hands.
Another brand that impresses me greatly is this Hollywood creation. With a small but impressive core line, the technologically advanced products do exactly what they promise. My new loves are the Body Perfection Gel in matte and the Eye Perfection Gel.
Oh I have waited for this moment for so long. Tarte’s impressive, 100% cruelty-free with lots of vegan options, high-performing and down right pretty. Picking favourites would be hard but I’d say the Amazonian Clay foundation and blushes.
