Alexami Hydrabotanique Collection

When you hear about organic, paraben-free, talc-free, eco-friendly, vegan skincare it’s automatically assumed that the products won’t do anything. Technology and science have come so far in the past few years that such thoughts are old-dated and there are many skincare ranges that are proving to be just as effective as the chemical laden ones. Hydrabotanique is one range that creators, Alexami, hope to prove how effective they can really be.

The 6 skincare products use active botanicals and minerals to do the job in place of where other companies use chemicals. The range is said to work as an ideal accompaniment to Alexami’s cosmetics but we put this range to the test to see if it would hold its own in the skincare stakes. Did it do wonders or was it a flop? The review reveals all.  Continue Reading

New Places To Shop Online

I love online shopping. The only time I prefer to shop in a brick & mortar store is when I am away on a holiday because that is my version of sightseeing. When you shop online as much as I do you definitely have the go-to trusty stores, but I am also on the lookout for new stores. With online shopping being one of the fastest growing commodities in the retail sector it is no surprise that new stores are opening their virtual doors on every day.

I have found some great stores the last few months, many of which ship internationally so it doesn’t matter if you are located in Australia, USA, UK or any where in between. With my top picks for beauty, fashion and homewares you will undoubtedly find what you need (and probably lots of stuff you just want).

Revolve Clothing

The list of designers you will find on this store is mind-blowing. You will find everything from budget-friendly MINKPINK to powerhouse designer Nanette Lepore. Even the dozen or so Australian brands they stock are cheaper than what we pay in Australia! There are bags, shoes, accessories, beauty and more clothes than I could possibly dream, and there is just as much of a selection for the boys too. Based out of the USA, they offer $10 flat rate international shipping on all orders via USPS Air Mail, or spend over $100 and get free shipping.

They also have a pretty funky blog for the fashion inclined.

Favourite Brands: Oh so many to list. Stila, Deborah Lippmann and Butter London for beauty. Alexis Bittar, Bless’ed Are The Meek, Havianas, Suboo, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff, Diane Von Furstenberg and Alice + Olivia.

If you have a friend or family member that is vegetarian or vegan, you probably know how hard it is for them to go to a restaurant or just purchase something up without asking 10 questions. When it comes to Christmas presents, the difficulty is transferred to the gift givers. What on earth can you buy them?

Today’s holiday gift guide is just for those who are not sure what to get for a vegetarian or vegan. The brands included in this post all strive for an animal cruelty free world and they all have a very dear place in my heart because of it. Even if you aren’t buying a gift for a vegetarian/vegan, do consider these fabulous options.
