Best new beauty products october 2014

October. It came, and now it’s practically gone. We still have Halloween to celebrate and it will kick off what is officially known as the madness of holiday season. Are you ready for it? Do you have everything you need? Do you have everything you want? NEVER, we know there is always new things to need and want, that’s why I do this round-up of brilliant new products each month.

Over 70 products new to launch in October landed on my desk and it was a tough gig picking my favourites, as it is every month. Surprisingly it was the Body category that had the most newbies but I guess this is expected as the temperature warms up in Australia and we start to bare our skin. Which were the most exciting of them all? I reveal them to you now. Continue Reading

NYFW Beauty Products

I love travelling but for me the worst part is packing (and unpacking, to be honest). I’ve given you a few tips about packing previously but what on earth does a girl pack for New York Fashion Week? It’s a week of post-summer warm weather in a humid city, running around all parts of town, and glitzy fashionistas at swinging soirees. My beauty bag has to carry everything I need to survive the week and even after all these years of attending Australian Fashion Week I still have no idea what to pack until the very last minute.

I try to take miniatures of all my beauty products where possible and I try to avoid sachets or little packets, where possible. I recommend collating deluxe samples when they’re available as gift with purchase offers or as perks from your favourite beauty store (Sephora, I’m looking at you!). These are the beauty products that accompanied me to NYFW 2014.

14 Beauty Tools to try in 2014

It’s a new year and time to set some new goals. Despite my obsession with looking and feeling my best, it’s my laziness that gets in the way of looking after myself as much as I should. I may own all the beauty products in the world but when it comes to using them I slack off after a couple of uses. This year I aim to take better care of my body and one way I’m contemplating doing that is by making use of some high-tech beauty inventions. 2014 will be the year I embrace the beauty tool.

Let’s take a look at 14 revolutionary beauty tools that could change your body (and your life) this year. Continue Reading

Getting Personal Wellbeing Checklist

I love to-do lists. Actually, I only love crossing things off them and not so much actually writing things on them. All my to-do lists consist of business related reminders. If something personal does pop on the list it’s usually something along the lines of buying dog food or paying a bill. This has got me thinking that I should possibly have a personal to-do list as well. Something to remind me that I need to take care of myself.

Despite being relatively healthy, there is a lot of things I avoid when it comes to looking after myself. I will only go to the doctor when I am so sick I think I’m  dying. If I am stressed or sore I will book a spa treatment (which is a good thing) but I won’t look further into what may be causing the problem. And I am a natural-born procrastinator, so I haven’t had a dental or eye check-up in I don’t know how long. This is why I have decided I need a Wellbeing Checklist. And you do too!

Writing a checklist is important because the act of writing down what needs to be down has a strange way of implanting itself in your memory, more so than just trying to remember it without writing a note. Placing the checklist in a location you will constantly see it, such as on your fridge or next to your computer, will make you see the reminder and eventually you will do what you need to do just so you can cross it off. Today I am sharing my checklist with you so that you will hopefully feel inspired to create your own. I will also need some help from you on a few of my items, so I hope you will join in.
