I showed you my shopping trip at Westfield as I prepared to head to Dallas for a work conference, but I didn’t reveal to you all the items I grabbed. If you have been following on Instagram (and you should, because who doesn’t like pretty pictures?) you will have seen my daily outfit posts. Did you like them? See something you want to buy? This is the post for you.

I’m very excited to be heading to a blogging conference in Dallas, Texas later this month. It’s been a really long time since I’ve been to an international conference and this one is indeed very special. rStheCon is run by rewardStyle, an exclusive network for style bloggers. I’ll tell you more about it at another time but the reason why that little fact is important to this post is because I will be heading to this conference with 199 of the most stylish bloggers in the world. It’s extremely daunting so I turned to Westfield for a little help with compiling my outfits. I’ve never used a personal stylist before but it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time, I guess I was just waiting for the perfect excuse. If you’ve never tried one either let me take you behind the scenes of my styling session to show you just how easy they can make our lives – special occasion or no special occasion.
I’m a total sucker for an inconvenient fashion trend. My latest obsession has to be nail rings. They’re like nail bling but without the hassle of doing a manicure, and they can jazz up an outfit when you are a little short of wow factor.
Asherali Knopfer have been owning this trend by making the most exquisitely glamorous pieces but the good news is every fashion forward retailer and designer has got an option to suit your budget. Here are some that I am eyeing off. Continue Reading
This year I commenced exercising as one of my New Year Resolutions. Normally I give up on my resolutions after a week or two but this year I’ve actually been making great progress. Well, I was. I started swimming (even though I have an irrational fear of putting my head under the water) and I signed up for group circuit training. Despite my swearing and yelling every few minutes during a workout, I actually quite enjoyed moving my fat during the circuit exercises. I was seeing results after just a couple of weeks …. but then pain hit. Big pain.
I have suffered from bunions and foot pain since I was a child. The deformity of the front half of my feet has slowly been making its impact on the rest of my body as I age. While I may look relatively normal from the outside, on the inside I have often unbearable pain in my feet, ankles, knees and now my back. I returned to physiotherapy after a long hiatus and it is there that I was informed that the exercises I was doing were actually causing further damage. The diagnosis, stop what I was doing in favour of low-impact exercise that doesn’t require me being on my feet. Swimming is now my one and only fitness friend.
The problem with swimming for exercise as a full-grown (read: curvaceous) woman is boobs. It must sound like I’m always complaining about big boobs but they really can get in the way of simple tasks. I have lots of cute bikini’s and even one-pieces to wear to the beach or to lay by a pool, but for actual swimming … not so much.
I went on the hunt for the perfect athletic swimsuit for curvy girls. Most women can don a regular Speedo one-piece but does that work for anyone with a D-cup or bigger? Let’s see what I found. Oh and WARNING, there are rolls of fat involved …. avert your eyes if offended. Continue Reading
We are 10 days away from Valentine’s Day so it’s time to commence the romantic chatter. I personally think the Hallmark holiday of Valentine’s Day puts the emphasis on all the wrong places. Forget about spending time and money on showing someone else you love them – it’s time to show yourself you love you!
How many of you can think to yourself, “I love me”? It was something I could never have fathomed until very recently but with my lifestyle improvements it would seem my self-loathing and depression has lifted. Prior to that, there were few things that really lifted my confidence levels. Despite my crippling body image issues, one thing that strangely made me feel good was a beautiful set of matching lingerie. It sounds ridiculous but the power of a matching bra and panties can do great things for the mind.
Lingerie isn’t always about the people who get to see you wear it. For me, that was never the case. I love good lingerie because of how it fits and feels. Slipping on a sexy set of silks under regular, boring clothes does feel different. It makes you feel different and that is why this Valentine’s Day I want you to focus on making yourself feel good before anyone else. To help you along, I’m sharing with you some of the most gorgeous lingerie buys available right now. Continue Reading
