VeggieGrill USA Food

Discovering delicious food has to be one of the greatest joys in life. It’s a common misconception that vegans mustn’t like eating, or that we don’t care if the food tastes good ….. WRONG. I care. I love food, I love the act of eating and I love exploring restaurants and eateries. My favourite time to do it is while travelling, so you can imagine what was high on my priority list during a recent visit to West Hollywood, USA.

Los Angeles is one of the world’s holy lands for vegans, and West Hollywood (the cool kids call it WeHo) is even more so a mecca. Any food you can imagine is available vegan in WeHo. There are so many great eateries dedicated to vegetarian and vegan food but you’d never know it just by looking at them. They aren’t in your face and they barely mention the word “vegan” (if at all). Other eateries are still super-vegan-friendly and have something fantastic on the menu.

Today I’m sharing with you the places that kept me full during my stay. Bookmark this list so if you find yourself in Los Angeles you know where to find some great eats. Continue Reading

The Joule Hotel Dallas Texas Review

My recent trip to the USA was in part to attend a blogging conference, held at The Joule Hotel in Dallas, Texas. As I do when I’m attending any conference, I choose to stay at the hosting hotel to make getting around easier. It allows me to keep focused on the job at hand rather than wasting time on traveling to/from the venue multiple times a day. After spending 4 days and 3 nights at The Joule Hotel I’m happy to share a review of my stay.  Continue Reading

Where to eat

Today is Australia Day, the official holiday to celebrate …… ok, like most Australians I actually have no idea what it’s meant to celebrate. Wikipedia tells me it is the following:

Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, which marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Sydney Cove, New South Wales, and raising of the Flag of Great Britain at that site by Governor Arthur Phillip. In contemporary Australia, celebrations reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation, and are marked by community and family events, reflections on Australian history, official community awards, and citizenship ceremonies welcoming new immigrants into the Australian community.

So that is good to know, but unfortunately for our indigenous Australians that means today was Invasion Day – the day their home was changed forever. I personally take a fence-sitting position on this one so to celebrate Australia Day I’m going to go a different path. The travel path.

I’ve noticed just how popular Australia has become as a tourist destination the past few years, and over this last festive season I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many Americans visit Australia. That tells me our little island is garnering attention and I should share some of my favourite haunts. To start with I’m going to talk about eating, because we all do it.

I’m revealing to you the three eateries you can almost always find me picking up a snack or having a meal. A little secret between you and I, eating at these places are not only delicious but they offer great healthy food (if you choose accordingly) so eating out doesn’t have to be a sin. Enjoy! Continue Reading

I know this post is going to make it a back-to-back non-beauty related post after yesterdays tales of Las Vegas but I just have to talk about the new collection of Logitech mice (or is that mouse’s? God I am terribly at English) because it has hit a few key notes in my ‘All Time Favourite Things’ category.

Anyone who speaks to me for more than 10 minutes will know I am geek. A chic-geek. But still a geek. I love new technology gadgets and even old gadgets with a new flashing light or change of colour. Honestly, I think it just comes down to the fact Continue Reading
