In my opinion, tinted moisturisers are a relatively new concept in the cosmetics world. We have had foundation, eyeliner and lipstick for what must be hundreds of years, but tinted moisturiser, we have not. I am usually the sort of person to jump on a new product bandwagon but for an unknown reason I never quite did that with tinted moisturiser. In the early days I played around with a few on the back of my hand, but none really seemed to inspire me to buy one. I guess I was saving my tinted moisturiser virginity for a the ‘perfect one’. Luckily, I have found just that with the new Australis Paparazzi Perfect range.

I don’t want to carry on too much but let me just say this new range from Australis is AWESOME. I have never been so excited about a true-blue Australian brand releasing a collection. I think Australis have started me on an Aussie beauty addiction.

Moving on, let me get to what you are actually here for, my review of the new High Definition Tinted Moisturiser from Australis’s Paparazzi Perfect collection.

What I Say ….

The product comes in two colours, Light/Medium and Medium/Dark. You would think this would be an easy choice to make but I found it SO hard to tell the difference between the colours when they were in the tube. If you don’t look at the little writing on the back barcode it would be very easy to buy the wrong one.

Can you tell which colour is which?

Once you have the correct colour everything else is a breeze. The tube has a super fine nozzle that allows you to only squeeze out what you need. I hate it when moisturisers blurt out a heap that you end up having to waste by wiping away with a tissue.

The nozzle is itty-bitty so you don't squirt out excess product

The cream itself has a slightly aerated, almost whipped cream like consistency. It is very light to apply and spreads easily. I would say it is one of the most heavily pigmented tinted moisturisers I have seen, so I found I had to pay attention to where I applied it otherwise I ended up with a white patch or a glob of darkness. On the few occasions I didn’t pay attention, and took half a day to notice I had a dark smear, it was easy to blend in without ruining the rest of my make up.

The finish is semi-matte and I can hardly feel I am wearing it, which is strange because it is SPF 15 and there is zero ‘sunscreen-feel’. I found it to be quite long lasting and could get through the whole day without there being faded patches of colour. I found it hydrated the ‘normal’ parts of my skin quite well but the dryer ares needed some extra moisture.

In my opinion, the florally-feminine scent is quite strong which is a far better option than the hideous chemical smelling ones, but if you have a sensitive nose this may be a bit too much for you.

Final thoughts, this will be up there with my daily foundation of choice because I love the boost of colour it gives my skin, it is sheer so no one can see I am wearing anything and the SPF is a MUST!
