Being a full-time blogger guarantees that I will never have two days the same. It also guarantees that I am required to be confident with how I conduct both my business and myself. In my opinion, nothing can make you more confident than good skin. When my skin is clear and glowing I feel like I can take on the world. That is why skincare has and always will be the most important part of looking after myself.
I am lucky enough to get to work in an environment I truly love and enjoy, but it isn’t as easy as you probably think. Are you picturing me sitting back on a beautiful chaise lounge with a cup of tea while I paint my nails? Scratch that. I am going to walk you through just one day in my life to show you that no matter how “glamorous” things can seem, confidence is the key to making it through, and if it wasn’t for clear healthy skin I wouldn’t make it. Plus, there is also a special competition in it for you!
5:50am – My alarm goes off
By “alarm” I mean my chocolate toy-poodle, Chanel, shoves her toy elephant in my face until I wake up. This is actually a sleep-in, Chanel usually starts this activity from 5am. I get up, feed the dogs and play with them in the yard for a little bit.
6:30am – Get ready
I have just jumped out of the shower having washed my face with the new Clearasil Daily Clear Vitamins & Extracts Daily Wash (it leaves my skin feeling soft AND clear as glass). I didn’t have to wash my hair because I washed it the night before knowing this morning would be freezing cold. I do my usual maintenance routine of brushing my teeth, applying my face serum, eye cream, face cream and sunscreen. While I stare at my closet (noting I have nothing to wear, again!) I apply body lotion to my upper body.
Naturally, I am running late already so I run to my desk and quickly browse my emails for anything urgent while I apply my makeup. It is so cold my hands aren’t working too fast so I opt for barely-there makeup, applying minimal foundation to my T-zone, a bit of blush, mascara and lipstick.
Nothing like a good face cleanse to wake you up in the morning
7am – Thinking time
I arrive at the train station just as my train is pulling away. I have to wait 15 minutes for the next one so I make some notes about what I need to do today. I notice my naked nails and make a mental note to get a manicure between meetings.
8am – ghd/NBCF Event
I arrive at my first event for the day. The beautiful Sarah Murdoch is hosting media and special guests for an exciting announcement from ghd and National Breast Cancer Foundation. The breakfast event is being held at Café Sydney, an iconic restaurant with a stunning view of Sydney Harbour. I get to chat to Mrs Murdoch on the balcony before the event and she talks of the new puppy she just adopted. My heart melts.
The event goes beautifully, ghd announce they will be donating $1mil to NBCF this year, we hear from some amazing speakers who have been touched by breast cancer and 80% of the room are left in tears. I thank my lucky stars for having clear skin as I realize my choice of not wearing too much makeup has come in handy during the crying. No panda eyes for me!

10:30am – Mani Madness
After walking around Sydney CBD trying to find a place who can give me a manicure (and I refuse to go to the dodgy nail spas) I walk the extra few blocks to Nail Boutique Le M in the Dymocks Building. I had never been there but I heard they do amazing things with CND products, so I decide to splurge a little and get a Shellac manicure in Hot Pop Pink.
A splash of hot pink for a rainy day
12pm – Lush Meeting
In pouring rain I run as fast as I can to the other side of the CBD where I have a meeting with Lush Cosmetics. I make a mental note to learn how to actually run and to buy a small umbrella to keep in my handbag for times like this. While I wait for my guest I check my emails and see a reminder for another event …. at 12:30pm TODAY! I realize my iCal mustn’t have synced completely and as a result I have double booked myself. Freaking out I reply advising the event organiser I will be running late and aim to be there by 1pm.
My meeting with Lush goes fantastically. I hear about their plans for International Kissing Day and their attempt to break a Guinness World Record while we munch on some delicious vegan yum cha. I leave feeling extremely full but I have to get to another lunch event so there is no time for stressing. Standing in the rain for 5 minutes I manage to flag down a cab willing to take me the short distance to the other side of the CBD. Bless him.

1:08pm – Antipodes Makeup Launch
I am 38 minutes late, which is the latest I have ever been to something in my entire life. The event is being held at the fabulous est. restaurant at Establishment. I have never been privileged enough to dine there previously so I am very excited to see what the hype is about. I enter the private function room shortly after Antipodes founder Elizabeth Barbalich starts the presentation.
A handful of beauty editors and I learn about the new mineral makeup Antipodes have just released. We all have a play with the product followed by a 2-course lunch. I had some special vegan creations for my entrée and main and they were outstanding. During a quick bathroom break I realize most of my makeup has been washed away from the rain but luckily my natural skin is looking luminous. Win!
I learnt all about the new Antipodes Mineral Foundation
2:45pm – Home Time
After waddling the short distance back to the train station I am on my way home and thinking about my new Peter Alexander onesie I had purchased. All I could think about was getting out of my wet clothes and soggy shoes.
3:30pm – Bliss
I am home, in my onesie and taking a breather while I lie down with my dogs. Chanel is especially cranky that I have been out so long and insists I cradle her like a baby until she falls asleep. She has a face you cannot argue with.

7pm – Work
After doing house duties, washing my face for the evening with Clearasil Daily Clear Vitamins & Extracts Scrub and eating a spoonful of dinner (I wasn’t hungry after a day full of meals), I am finally sitting down at my desk and ready to do a full days work. I write a post for the next day, edit some photos, catch up on social media and answer 100 or so emails.
So that is just one day in my life. Now, it is your turn. One lucky reader will have the chance to score a $500 experience of their choosing to enjoy with confidence, thanks to Clearasil. Enter below:
