For the Australian beauty industry Christmas isn’t in December. It’s not in July either. Nope, for Aussie beauty babes August is when Christmas comes to town. The Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo is happening on August 23 & 24, and you will not want to miss it after I give you the ultimate sneak peek at what’s happening on that one fine weekend in August. Plus, you may just win the awesome competition I have for you at the end (I’m jealous I can’t win!).
Forget any Australian beauty show you’ve ever been to because the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo is the queen of them all. The best beauty educators from around the world, all the big brands, hands-on discovery experiences and a jam-packed schedule that will leave you motivated and thirsty to advance your career in beauty.
The exclusively trade-only beauty expo is where you need to be if you are a student or professional in the spa and beauty industry. It’s Australia’s largest gathering for the industry, giving you the unique opportunity to source and experience the latest beauty, spa, medi and wellness products, treatments, ideas and equipment. There is something for everyone, covering the makeup, nail, tanning, skincare, organic, cosmeceutical and naturopathic sectors, plus so much more.
I’ve attended the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo every year I’ve been able to, and each year it wows me. Aside from all of the above mentioned, I have three particular parts of the show that are my favourites:
- The Australian Nail Awards – This year the awards are bigger and better than ever, partnering with Nailympia London (organisers of the nail industry’s leading international competition) giving nail artists a global platform for their artistry. And boy is there some serious art going on. Stop by during the live competition to witness masterpieces created on the tiniest of canvas’.
- Face2Face Makeup Awards – Hosted and coordinated by one of my favourite makeup artists, Becca Gilmartin, these awards challenge makeup artists of all levels to put their skills to the test. You can watch the makeup artists transform their live models and see celebrity judges critique the work. This is also a prime opportunity to witness just what it takes to be an award winning makeup artist.
- Business Leaders Summit – In it’s third year and easily one of the most popular parts of the show, this half-day educational summit will put you leaps ahead of your competition. Talented and successful beauty industry experts give you a whirlwind lesson in maximising your business and reaching your fullest potential.
I honestly couldn’t mention everything I enjoy at this show, I would just be listing the entire program.
The Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo is a trade-only show but it’s open to anyone who is studying to work in the beauty & wellness fields as well as already trained professionals. This doesn’t just mean makeup artists and beauty therapists, whether you’re a hairdresser, tattooist, doctor, nurse, health food store owner or natural therapist you too can enjoy all that the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo has to offer.
This year you will find the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo at a brand new waterside venue at Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island. The CBD location has picturesque views and getting there is easy thanks to FREE dedicated transport.
