New Release Beauty Favourites July 2013Wooo, it is July!! We made it to half way through 2013, can you believe it? July is a great time in the beauty world because of all the leftover sales from the end of financial year. Nordstrom are having their annual Anniversary Sale and there are lots of beauty exclusives and offers to tempt you. My beloved Clearance section on Adore Beauty is overflowing with favourites from Bloom Cosmetics, BECCA and Invisible Zinc. And then there is the always awesome Sephora and ULTA, who both have some jaw dropping offers.

If sales aren’t enough for you, how about all the new beauty launches that come to town in July? This month I met 81 new products which left my head spinning and my heart racing. Here is my curated selection of standouts.

Scunci

Coloured locks are still hot but don’t go for a permanent dye if you are just looking for a bit of fun. Hair chalk is definitely the solution for you and Scunci’s new Hair Chalk tool makes application the easiest we have found yet. The hand-held tongs have a piece of coloured chalk on each inner side so you simply clamp down on a section of hair and slide to tint your hair a hot hue. If you can use a straightening iron you can use this funky tool, it is that easy. Each pack contains the tong unit plus coloured sets of chalk. You can mix and match the shades or just use one for a pop of colour.

You don’t need to be a Lanvin lover to know that Alber Elbaz has a crafty eye for beauty. Mineralogie

BB cream has been making a consistant appearance in my monthly new launches posts for about a year, and it isn’t going away anytime soon. BB cream is now part of the beauty furniture but I know many of you still haven’t found the one that ticks all the boxes for them. Perhaps the new Mineralogie BB Creme Skin Perfector will be the one. Mineralogie’s version is still a western take on an eastern product, but it does have some great skincare benefits. t has been formulated with white tea to slow the breakdown of collagen and elastin, acai berry and oat beta glucan to smooth skin, reduce inflammation and reduce redness, while the antioxidant resveratrol helps protect the skin from sun damage. It includes SPF 20 and comes in three shades – Light, Medium and Deep. Plus I love their eco-friendly take on beauty and they don’t test on animals.

Rimmel London

The Apocalips is here … no, not the apocalypse. Apocalips Lip Lacquer is a revolutionary new lip hybrid that gives you the colour intensity of lipstick with the high-shine finish of lipgloss. The weirdest part is that the creamy formula is actually hydrating, which is unheard of for a lipgloss-lipstick hybrid this full of colour and shine. Available in eight shades: Stellar, Apocaliptic, Nova, Celestial, Solstice, Phenomenon, Nude Eclipse, and Stargazer. Be warned, they are addictive.

Australia $15.95 each from Priceline, Kmart, Target, Big W, Coles supermarkets & selected pharmacies.

USA – Unavailable at this time (get it from ASOS).

UK £6.49 from ASOS

Maybelline New York

I was (and still am) a big fan of the original EyeStudio Color Tattoo eyeshadows, but their new Metal range gives us 4 new hues to get obsessed with. Inked in Pink, Silver Strike, Barely Branded and Electric Blue is the same creaseless creamy eyeshadow we have come to love but with the added effect of metallic pigments. They are frosty, cool and intense colouring to make eyes pop.

Australia $11.95 each from selected pharmacies, department stores and variety stores.

USA $6.99 from ULTA, Walgreens and Drugstore.com

UK – Unavailable at this time.

Skincare

Jurlique

Damn, Jurlique, you sure know how to suck a girl in. This month Jurlique won me over by combining a charitable initiative with stunning packaging and using my kryptonite words “deluxe edition”. What am I talking about? It is the new Rosewater Balancing Mist Intense Deluxe Edition 2. Their best-selling face mist has been super charged with a more intense formula to hydrate, condition and protect your skin like never before. This limited edition 200ml bottle is packaged in a stunning rose tinted glass bottle and the sale of each bottle contributes to the AIME (Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience) to help support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to complete high school at the same rates as all Australians. This is a product that really does make you look and feel good. You can learn more through the Jurlique Ideas of Beauty Fund website.

Australia $69 from Jurlique stores, leading department stores and selected pharmacies.

Natio

The newest line of skincare from Natio is Renew Line & Wrinkle, consisting of 6 products all set to reduce the visible signs of aging. My pick of the group is the eye roller serum and the night cream. Packed full of good stuff from nature like Frankincense, Moringa Butter, Fennel and plant peptides, you can effectively tackle wrinkles without the nasty stuff. If you are looking for cruelty-free, vegan-friendly anti-aging products you can’t go past Natio.

Australia – Natio, David Jones, Myer and selected pharmacies.

Fragrance

L’Occitane en Provence

I have been so excited to tell you about La Collection De Grasse since it was announced some months ago, and now the time is here. La Collection De Grasse includes four unique eau de toilette’s made with natural extracts so their scent is clean and pure. Each fragrance sees a marriage between two significant essences all of which hail from Grasse in Europe. Jasmine & Bergamote, Magnolia & Mûre, Vanille & Narcisse and Thé Vert & Bigarade – each distinctively different but all a wonderful delight for the senses. The bottles are classic and simple, containing 75ml of liquid luxury.

Australia $80 each from L’Occitane stores and online.

USA $75 from L’Occitane stores and online.

UK £49.00 from L’Occitane stores and online.

Avon

Fergie’s collaboration with Avon has been a great partnership in the fragrance world and now they are at it again with the latest release, Viva by Fergie. Despite the sharp look of the bottle, this eau de parfum spray is actually quite feminine with an unusual twist on floral fragrance. Top notes of greens and herbs, middle notes of lavender, with floral and minty undertones and base notes of vetiver, introducing a leathery scent, it is powerful and different just like its namesake.

Australia $59.99 from Avon sales representatives. Phone 1800 646 000 to find one near you.

USA $30 from Avon
