Best new beauty products Oct Nov 2013

Baby did a bad bad thing. In this situation, I am ‘Baby’. It would seem I was so excited and stressed about taking a holiday in October that I totally missed out on posting the best new product launches for that month. There were too many great new finds to skip it completely so I have merged October and November together so you won’t miss a thing.

I was introduced to over 200 new products that went on sale in October and November – a mammoth amount but mostly because of the holiday season as brands create special editions and limited releases for gift giving. You can check out our gift guides for the best of the holiday releases but for now let’s look at the new and noteworthy products to hit shelves over the past couple of months.

The new Mango Oil is a hair treatment oil that has been formulated to nourish and protect the hair. The oil is rich in essential fatty acids that nourish the hair and protect it against UV rays, which makes this a favourite for Spring/Summer. That isn’t the only reason this product will be in my beach bag – it is also water resistant so I can go swimming knowing my hair isn’t being sapped of life.

I have a new lipstick obsession but that is actually a good thing for my lips. The new PureMoist line of lipsticks from mineral makeup powerhouse, Jane Iredale, not only delivers bold, long-lasting lip colour but it also cares for your lips. One of the key ingredients is Moringa Oil which, along with other good-for-you ingredients, keeps your lips looking and feeling soft. Best of all the shade range has 24 hues so there is something for every occasion. My obsession is with Margi (matte true red), the hero shade of the collection.

Kardashian Beauty

Khroma Beauty was the first makeup collection to be launched by the Kardashian sisters and unfortunately it never made it to Australian shores. Now that the line has been rebranded, as Kardashian Beauty, and re-evaluated we are lucky to have the girls take it global. The line is really simple – it has the feel of luxury without the price tag. It makes the girls’ trademarks looks to each product. Kourtney’s neutrals and lashes, Kim’s smokey eyes and nude lips or Khloé’s shimmery eyes and blush – the line has everything you need to create it, just as they do every day.

It took 7 years but Canadian-born skincare brand, RACINNE, are planning to change the face of skincare with their new Ultimate Hydra Perfection Series. There is a lot of science-y stuff behind the brand but what it boils down to is RACINNE say they have created a powerful antioxidant formula from highly refined and mature grape plant extracts. These offer natural UV and free radical protection…while natural antioxidants repair skin damaged by the harsh environment. The range includes everything you would need for a full regime – cleanser, scrub, serum, eye cream and a choice of face creams.

You can’t get through summer wearing boots and runners, you have to take them out of hiding at some point. Shedding my winter feet was much easier thanks to the new Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi. It is an electronic file that rotates to buff the dead skin off your feet. It feels a little funny at first but you quickly get used to the sensation. The roller itself is replaceable so when it becomes dull you can buy a replacement roller (sold as a pack of 2), which is much better than the regular foot files that you must throw away when no longer useful.

L’Occitane en Provence

I have been obsessing for some time over the new additions to the La Collection de Grasse  line of fragrances but it is the new Fleur d’Or & Acacia scent that won me over when it was released as a limited edition hand cream. L’Occitane have long been famous for their scented hand creams but this one is on another level. It is like bathing your hands in real perfume, not just a scented version. The hand cream performs its softening, caring duties thanks to shea butter but it is the fragrance that keeps me coming back for more.

The Be Delicious franchise is one of my favourites in perfume land, but it was hard for me to imagine how they could possibly improve it. The Be Delicious Skin Hydrating Eau de Toilette is exactly how they did it. I think I will go through an entire bottle in just one month, I am addicted!
