I don’t want to admit it but … September is over. I know, it’s a shock considering it’s actually almost October but can you believe it? I swear it was only February last month but now we are rolling into the month of Pumpkin Spice lattes and Halloween-themed everything. Now that we’ve said goodbye to September let me show you which products launched that captured my attention.
Nearly 60 new products landed on my desk for their September launch and it was overwhelming just how good the competition between them were. The biggest competition was in the lips category …. so many new, shiny, pretty lippies! Which ones won me over? Let’s find out!
As you would have seen in my NYFW Street Style: Hair coverage, coloured hair was a big trend at Fashion Week and will remain so for at least the next couple of seasons. Label.m is the official partner of London Fashion Week and they just so happened to release these coloured powder sprays that make mastering the trend oh so easy.
The collection expands on the initial Powder Pink Spray to now include Powder Purple Spray, Powder Blue Spray and Powder Red Spray. The spray in, wash out formula is easy to work with and you don’t have to commit to any one colour.
Australia $29.95 each from label.m concept salons and TONI&GUY salons
USA $16.81 from Look Fantastic
I think every girl needs to have a set of hot rollers and if you’re a noob at using them like I am, the new Total Protection Ceramic Intense Big Curls Instant Heat Rollers VS3133A are exactly what you need. The unit includes 12 rollers and 12 contoured clips, and they all have heating elements. This means you don’t have to mess with “self-stick” velcro rollers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to cut those out of my hair!
Australia $59.95 from leading department stores and electrical appliance outlets

Nail art is difficult. I’m not afraid to admit that my list for awesome nail art is great but my skills are not. That’s why I’m stocking up on the new Almond-shaped stick-on nails. They come in 6 glamorous designs that aren’t over-the-top – French Matte Black, French Glitter Black, Half Moon Nude, Black with Chrome, French Glitter Silver and Half Moon Black.
Simplifying your routine will be easy with the new Lip & Cheek Tint. The multi-tasking cream delivers a pop of colour and the cute compact has a mirror so it’s the perfect handbag accompaniment. Available in three shades – nude, peach and pink.
Australia $5.95 from selected pharmacies
It seems like an idea someone should have come up with sooner but the new Gradiôise mascara takes the old trick of bending your mascara wand to a whole new level. The ‘SwanNeck™’ wand design is short and twisted, which makes it easy to maneuver the eye’s curves and reaching each lash during application. The result, fanned out lashes with an even coating.
UK £24.50 from Selfridges
I know so many of you adore the 101 Ointment from Lanolips so I think you will really like their new Fruities limited edition capsule collection. All the benefits of the original 101 Ointment now comes with an added bonus all naturalt fruit extracts for a delicious scent. You can choose from Apple, Strawberry and Peach, or mix them up for a sweet cocktail that’s good for your lips.

We are used to seeing new colours of our favourite existing NARS products but it’s rare for a whole new product to come into our lives. Last month we welcomed Audacious lipstick, the newest beauty in the NARS family. The creamy lipstick formula delivers bold pigments, maximum coverage and a wearable satin finish. Dare I say it, but in my opinion this is the “it” in lipsticks right now.
Australia $49 from Mecca Cosmetica
This new natural skincare brand is sure to make waves by having such low prices. I use Spring as an essential period to prep my skin for being shown off in summer, so that means lots of scrubbing to say goodbye to dead skin and clogged pores. It’s been a much more enjoyable experience with the new Early-Harvest Raspberry body scrub, which essentially makes me feel like I’m rubbing homemade raspberry jam all over myself (sorry if that caused a mental image). The only issue is that I want to eat it. All of it.

I vow to get fit and healthy before I have to bare my summer body so I’m thanking heavens for the new Sport Cool Zone SPF50+ sunscreen by Banana Boat. It combines all my favourite sunscreen elements – it’s a spray on, it’s SPF50+, it’s clear and it’s sweat resistant. The addition of it having a cooling, refreshing feeling makes this a winner for hot, sticky situations.
Australia $16.99 from Priceline and supermarkets
USA $9.99 at Soap.com
Another sunscreen I’m adding to my collection is the new Suntivity SPF30 Liposomal Spray. I know, I know, another spray but I really do love them. I’m super lazy and this sunscreen is designed for normal to dry skin so it has lots of moisturising properties like vitamin E and aloe vera as well as high protection sunscreen.
Australia $20.99 from Priceline and pharmacies
The natural skincare wonders from Antipodes welcome a new baby to the family. Jubilation Ultra Nourishing Hand & Body Cream will be perfect for those with incredibly dry skin, or for the fall-winter season above the equator. It’s filled with the essential omega’s (3, 6 and 9) plus vitamins A, C and E. Instead of artificial fragrance you’ll find the sweet, natural aroma of figs and wild blackcurrant.

I’ve spoken about my love of Let Tan’s Wash Off instant bronzer previously but now they have added two new additions to the line. The first is the Dark Bronze shade in the Wash Off spray, which is great for all you medium-toned beauties but it isn’t too relevant to me because I wouldn’t dare go darker than the Bronze shade. What I’m loving is the new Radiant Glow Instant Bronzing Lotion which leaves my pins and arms looking perfectly sun kissed without the sun.

I know I’m really late to this party but I’ve never tried a clinical strength deodorant. Something about them freaked me out and intrigued me in equal parts but when I saw the new Stress Protect Clinical Strength I had to take the plunge. I already like the Stress Protect roll-on and with my stress being at record highs of late the sweating has been coming on a little more regularly. I’m hoping this new overnight application can solve the problem for stress sweaters like me. It’s also available in a Nivea For Men variety.

The new Wood Sage and Sea Salt fragrance is perfect for lovers of earth scents. The unisex cologne is inspired by breaking waves, sea salt spray, and the mineral scent of rugged cliffs. It smells like an adventurous summer and it’s getting me excited for all the travel I have planned for the coming season.
Australia $90 from David Jones
Alien gets a lighter touch this season with the new Alien Eau Extraordinaire. It’s still a fine concoction of floral, wood and amber notes but I’m noticing a touch more floral and a lighter feel. The transparent and gold bottle is also a sight and I’m loving that it looks like a giant precious stone on display.
Australia $89 from department stores and fragrance specialists
