This past Friday and Saturday I attended Problogger Event, a conference for bloggers and new media. It was two full-on, jam packed days of brain busting education and it would be an understatement for me to say that I am exhausted. I learnt a lot and to make the story short, I have a lot of work to do if I want to continue running this blog full time. BUT, right now that isn’t my main concern. What I want to do (and will do) this week is share more about who I am.
For the past 2.5 years I would like to think I have shared with you a lot about me. I would hope that you think you know everything about me already. However, taking the time over the past few days and after putting the question out there on Facebook, I have realised I haven’t really shared with you a lot about my personal life because I have only vaguely mentioned some key things in the context of a beauty related post. I now realize that is not good enough. I owe you more.
Over each of the next 5 days I will be revealing very personal parts of my life on the blog. This is not going to be easy for me. I am a master at cloaking true emotion and I have double-brick walls up to stop me from getting close to people. I have touched on the fact I have had a rhinoplasty, that my mother has cancer, that I have had skin cancer, my strong opinions on mental health and that I have a deep soft spot for animals. This week, I will give you the full story on all of those things and more. The who, what, when, why and how.
So why am I doing this now? Well, I think it will help you understand a little bit more about why I write this blog, why I love connecting with you and hopefully give you a place to share your own experiences or stories. We all have one, and sometimes it is just nice to know that others are human beings with problems as well.
If you would like to know anything specific about me or my life, please let me know by leaving a comment. This is going to be a tough week for me but I am determined to do it.
