I have to start by telling you that this item is so limited edition it is only on sale for just over another week. You have till the January 31st to grab this item and I can say with out a doubt it is worth it! I bought it last Wednesday which was just day 3 of being on sale and the lovely ladies at Kit in Myer Sydney City told me they were flying out the door.

This train case is one of two very special collections Smashbox has created for the release of Burlesque the movie. It is divinely packaged and I think it suits the theme of the movie perfectly. I am going to break it down by product for you because there is a lot!

Limitless Liquid Liner Pen in Jet Black

A liquid liner made easy in my opinion. The pen style makes it so much easier to apply and the tip is very stiff which I prefer in a liquid liner. The ink dries super quick and leaves a blackest of black tattoo effect.

Loose Shimmer in Burlesque

This shimmer is a light dusty pink colour in my opinion. I think this is the perfect colour for the highlighting the brow bone or applying over a matte blush. It could be worn as an eyeshadow on someone who can pull of light colours but for me the pigment is too light and I would need to apply half the pot.

Double-Ended Lip Gloss in Peep/Show

Two colours that can be worn separately or together making it perfect for the handbag. Peep is a milky candy colour with no shimmer and very light in pigment on the lips. Show is a richly pigmented raspberry colour with the tiniest amount of shimmer. In the tube it looks shimmery but on the lips it is hardly noticeable, it just adds an even shinier gloss finish.

Eye Shadow Quad in Entice

I think I like this eyeshadow in the packet more than I do on my eyes. I feel this one is hard for an amateur like me because the colours are not obviously complimenting. Individually I would mix these colours in with others in my stash but with a little knowledge or practice I am sure these colours would work together. The shadows are nicely pigmented but I do think the grey one could have been richer. The purple is my favourite!

Colours include shimmering pink, deep eggplant, shimmering pink beige, cool grey

Hyperlash Mascara in Blackout

The super short bristles let me get really close to my lash line without stabbing my eyeball (total win). The application is flawless with no clumping and just one or two swipes turns your lashes super black. This is not a volumising  or lengthening sort of mascara but it coats the lashes you have perfectly. Also, the shape of the mascara packaging starts off small at the bottom and gets bigger as it goes towards the lid, I think that is quite cool.

Fusion Soft Lights in Tease

I LOVE this blush. It is super pink and super fine silver shimmer. It does fade to a faint peach type colour but that never seems to come through when I apply it, either way it looks good in the disc. I find this blush also has good staying power after leaving it for a couple mins. Plus the disc is huge, this blush would last years even if you used it daily!

Cream Liner Palette in Vixen

The palette contains 12 nicely pigmented creamy shadows in an itty bitty compact. I was lazy and didn’t swatch these but I found all the colours to work well as eye shadows. The darker colours like the Green, Blue and Purple I would use as liners as well. It also has a built in mirror and comes with a little applicator brush.

Colours include jade, lilac, ocean blue, taupe, deep purple, navy, warm bronze, soft pink, gunmetal, golden pearl.

Train Case

The products come packaged in an adorable lady-like black patent train case with a quilted finish. It is lined with felt in dusty pink and there is a labeled mirror on the inside of the lid. The split levels makes it great for storing heaps of product.

In addition to the above mentioned products the set also comes with an instructional leaflet including two looks inspired by the Burlesque movie. Strangely though, the website and all material advertising the set says it includes another product, Smashbox O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Colour, but none of the advertising images show it and I didn’t get it in my kit so I have no idea what the go is there. It was a little disappointing to not receive that extra product but I still think this collection is well worth the purchase.
