If you haven’t started buying christmas and holiday gifts for your loved ones than don’t panic, I think most of us are in the same boat. To combat that last minute rush of panic, I am going to share with you a whole heap of holiday gift guides that will make buying presents a breeze. To start off I am going to show you the best offerings from one of my favourite beauty retailers, Sephora. These beauty kits include makeup, body, skincare, fragrance and nails.

For my fellow Australians, I know how painful it is to see these amazing products from a store that won’t ship to us but I have some  news that may help you so look out for that later on. Now ….. let’s look at the gifts! Continue Reading

An essential beauty kit packed full of Benefit beauties. Continue Reading

This month has been a little lacking in the review department thanks to all the craziness with Cosmoprof North America and other adventures in the US of A. But don’t think I forgot about you!

I briefly mentioned that I picked up this item in a recent haul post, but what I didn’t mention was that I got two. One for me, one for you! It was just too good to pass up. So what is it?

Benefit Cosmetics – Little Look Goods

This adorable kit contains three deluxe sized (VERY deluxe. Like huge!) samples of Benefit’s best sellers. Here is what you will score:

1x BADgal lash mascara in Black (4.0g)

1x Dandelion Brightening Face Powder (7.0g)

1x “that gal” Brightening Face Primer (7.5mL)

The Benefit Cosmetics Little Look Goods pack

I am already a huge fan of BADgal mascara and “that gal” primer, but I have never tried Dandelion before. If the other boxed powders from Benefit are anything to go by, I will love Dandelion just as much as I love Sugarbomb.

One lucky winner will score this adorable set of Benefit goodies!

I opened my one up to take a photo. I promise the winner gets a brand new, sealed one!

Last Thursday (26 May) we celebrated the wonderful birthday of yours truly, The Plastic Diaries. Yes, we reached the ripe old age of 1. I mentioned to you briefly that today (May 30) I will be celebrating with a big giveaway. For those of you who are regular readers of The Plastic Diaries you may notice that today is the last Monday of the month, which is usually when we have our monthly giveaway, but this month I wanted to honour our 1st birthday by doing something a little different. Instead of giving away just 1 product that I love from the past 30 days, I wanted to do a years worth. This giveaway features products or brands I have mentioned in the past year, whether it had been a review or a special offer, there is a mix of everything.

Why This Giveaway

Before I get into the prizes and competition nitty gritty, I just wanted to say a few quick words. HA! I know, I have never said a ‘few’ or ‘quick’ words in my lifetime, but I will try.

Making it to the 1 year mark for me means a lot. It has been a tiresome, exhausting, crazy and joyful ride that I wouldn’t have changed a minute of. However, how this past year has been for me is of no real importance. This past year has really been about you. Talking to you, sharing with you and having fun with you. More than anything I hope you have learnt something while reading The Plastic Diaries but also had a little fun. Some of you openly express your opinions, via the comments, Twitter or Facebook, and I love every time you do. Others sit there quietly and support me from a far, I love that too.

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
