In some circles, Pantene is a dirty word. When I worked in my local hair dressing salon as a teenager I was always told that Pantene was the devil. I was lead to believe that all the things I hate about my hair are because I used Pantene. I have now learnt that is completely false but I still found myself not using Pantene very often. Why? Because it was just too heavy.

I have really fine, straight-ish, fly-away hair so that means it gets oily pretty quick and it always lacks volume. Whenever I used Pantene, my hair would just become weighed down. I loved the silky soft feel but it wasn’t worth it to have to wash my hair everyday.

The new Aqua Light range from Pantene has been launched for people exactly like me. Fine-haired lasses step forward. We have a saviour.

A new look for Pantene’s latest release

What I Say ….

  • Easily the first thing I notice is the fragrance. It is a more subtle version of the signature Pantene scent that I used to love so much, and still do.
  • The packaging is spot on. The shampoo is clear and the water-like images with bubbles on the labels add to the light feel. Continue Reading

This year has already flown by and it has already been over a week since my birthday (which felt like minutes ago). As usual, I am a little delayed in posting this particular feature but again, for a good reason which I will tell you shortly.

Birthday’s are usually such a downer for me (the whole aging thing) but this year I was pleasantly surprised by an offer to have my hair dyed and styled. As much as I try to stay grumpy for the entire 24 hour birthday period, a trip to the salon always puts a smile on my face. Damn!

The Product

Clairol recently launched a new and rather innovative product in their well established Nice ‘n Easy collection, titled Colour Blend Foam. The new foam formula makes blending colour super easy and perfect for hard to reach places. You can use Colour Blend Foam to do a full colour but because of the new unique abilities, it would seem this product could be the ultimate regrowth problem solver. Interest has been peaked.

The Makeover

To really put the regrowth solving solution to the test, I would need to have my hair dyed first. Clearly. Enter hair colour genius, Continue Reading

Professional beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries shares her personal blogger burnout story and experience

This article is Part 1 of a three-part series about my personal experience with Blogger Burnout – My Demise + My Recovery + My Future

I started The Plastic Diaries in 2008, became a full-time blogger in 2010 and vanished from the blogging universe in 2015. Where did I go? Why? What happened to me? These are questions that have been asked of me during my 18+ month disappearance. The short answer was blogger burnout – a rarely spoken of condition that is fast becoming a serious concern amongst the influencer industry. Have you ever followed a blogger and notice that one day they have just disappeared? Their blog stopped posting new content, their social media went untouched – it happens often. In my almost 9 years of blogging I have lost count of the bloggers that have come and gone, most of which I have no idea why or where they went.

Upon my return to blogging at the end of last year I’ve put off explaining what exactly occurred in my life. I confided in a few select friends and trusted individuals about my story but I’ve brushed over it with the wider community by saying the cause was “personal stuff”. I don’t believe bloggers owe anyone an explanation when they disappear but I know that when my favourites have gone AWOL I’ve missed them and been concerned for their wellbeing. I didn’t want to be another blogger who vanished without a trace and leave you wondering. I also believe Continue Reading
