Best new beauty products october 2014

October. It came, and now it’s practically gone. We still have Halloween to celebrate and it will kick off what is officially known as the madness of holiday season. Are you ready for it? Do you have everything you need? Do you have everything you want? NEVER, we know there is always new things to need and want, that’s why I do this round-up of brilliant new products each month.

Over 70 products new to launch in October landed on my desk and it was a tough gig picking my favourites, as it is every month. Surprisingly it was the Body category that had the most newbies but I guess this is expected as the temperature warms up in Australia and we start to bare our skin. Which were the most exciting of them all? I reveal them to you now. Continue Reading

Everloc Solutions Shower Storage

How often do I complain about beauty products having to sit on my shower floor? It’s probably as annoying for you to hear about it as it is for me to live with it but after years of frustration I’ve finally decided enough is enough. When I moved into my new house in May I promised myself I would use better storage options in my bathroom. For now I want to keep options temporary because I may want to do a bathroom renovation in the near future, but what’s on the market these days that will keep my bathroom looking good and my beauty products out of harms way? I went on a mission to find out.

After much research I settled on two new important storage accessories for my shower. Did they solve all my problems? Let me show you!  Continue Reading

Australis Curve Ink Eyeliner

I’m currently on a bit of a liquid eyeliner bender. It started a few weeks ago when I was planning the workday to date night tutorial. I’ve always known about my shaky hands but it started to bother me that I was avoiding a product I loved the look of because I feared my hands. I decided practice was the only option I have so I’ve been pulling out all my liquid eyeliners to practice using them, and in the process I can review and swatch them for you.

I’m going back to beginner basics with the Australis Curve Ink Eyeliner because it’s specifically marketed to liquid liner newbies. I wanted to see if this liner could make it easier for me to get a straight line and if the unusual design has benefits over a traditional pen or wand style liquid liner. My results are below. Face of Australia Gentle Make-Up Remover

The first step in my makeup removal process is to remove the bulk of my eye makeup. I like to do this with a makeup remover on a cotton pad so that I can soak it off my eyes for a bit and then remove by cleansing the area or using a makeup removal towelette. This means I require a makeup remover that is both effective at dissolving heavy grade makeup (waterproof mascara, liquid eyeliner, lash glue, etc) as well as gentle enough to not sting my eyes. Does the Face of Australia Gentle Make-Up Remover offer everything I need? Find out in my review.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
