Simple Spotless Rapid Action Spot Zapper

Pimples don’t stop making themselves present just because you turn 25. In fact, I believe I’ve had more pimples as an adult than I ever had as a pre-teen or teenager. Stress, diet, hormones and environmental changes are something that have contributed greatly to my recent season of breakouts. I have a pretty solid daily skincare regime but when the occasional breakout rears its ugly head I don’t go changing my entire routine. I break out a spot treatment instead.

Simple Skincare’s range expansion now includes blemish fighters. I recently picked up the Spot Zapper as I’m a sucker for trying a new release and the roll-on applicator intrigued me. Has it been combatting my pimples? Read the review below to find out! Continue Reading

Proactiv Advanced Blemish Pimple Cream

I don’t know what it is but pimples have been attacking my face the past few months. I know I’ve been exceptionally stressed, and that accounts for the majority of my breakouts, but I’m thinking there is an underlying cause I need to investigate. I’ve never had many breakouts in my years and I was hoping to skate through life with few more. Seeing as though that hasn’t been the case recently, I’ve turned to blemish spot treatments to help me over a few lumpy breakouts until I get my skin on track. I’ve never used, nor had a need to use, Proactiv Solution products but when I found the little tube of Advanced Blemish Cream buried deep in a box of skincare products I thought now would be the time to give it a go.

Do you need acne in order to use Proactiv? Will Proactiv work for my dry, mildly-blemished skin? Does Proactiv really work for Adam Levine, Julianne Hough and Naya Rivera? My review reveals the answers, except for that last question (who knows what works for celebrities!?!). Continue Reading

Trilogy Pimple Spot Treatment

I’ve been suffering from stress breakouts more than I’ve ever done previously, and it’s been taking a toll on my ego. I’ve always prided myself on having good, clear skin at all costs but unfortunately this outbreak has been beyond my control. My efforts to lower my stress have been futile and the evidence has been left all across my forehead. It’s in these time I’ve had to turn to pimple treatments to help me win the battle.

I’ve been using Trilogy’s spot treatment to deal with them as they pop up. Has it been effective? Did it work quickly, or at all? My review tells you.  Continue Reading

Clearasil PerfectaWash FruitSplash Face Cleanser

I would never think that an automated dispenser of face cleanser would make an impact on my life, but the Clearasil PerfectaWash automatic system has done just that. Despite my love for looking after my skin, I am still lazy and don’t like my daily routine to be more complicated than it needs to be. Having a spout and sensor automatically dish up the exact amount of face wash I need to cleanse my face makes that twice daily task just a little bit simpler.

But what about the product performance? It is no good having a funky machine if the product is no good. After months of testing I am ready to share my thoughts in this review.  Continue Reading

There are so many beauty brands that produce amazing skincare products, but getting around to trying them all and even finding what products work for you can be an expensive and exhaustive process. One of my favourite ways to discover new beauty brands and skincare products is to buy a kit. This way you get a variety of products that work together and usually for a fraction of the individual product prices. They also make for a wonderful gift idea. Today I am showing you 8 skincare kits from beauty brands I think you have to try.

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
