Cargo Cosmetics Illustration

It’s been a long time since we saw Cargo Cosmetics sold on Australian shores. The travellers’ cosmetic brand (well, that’s what I like to call it) was sold in David Jones stores approximately 10 years ago but departed silently one dark day. Now we have word that Cargo is set to return to Australia in all its glory thanks to Kit Cosmetics.

From February 2, 2014 Cargo Cosmetics will once again go on sale in Australia, at Kit Cosmetics stores and online. To celebrate their return I thought I would share a bit about the brand for those of you who missed it the first time around. Plus, I’m sharing which products I think are a must-try from their range.  Continue Reading

La Senza Underwear Group

Do you have favourite underwear? A style and fabric that makes you feel comfortable but sexy at the same time? For almost my entire life I had no such thing. I was constantly at war with panties. They were too tight, too loose, dug in, sagged, felt suffocating and uncomfortable – I could go on forever about how much of a pain it was to wear underwear. That was up until a few years ago when La Senza arrived in Australia. I discovered their underwear and my life changed forever. I bought a handful and they had lasted me all this time but a couple of months ago I realised I was in desperate need of an update so I went to find where the nearest store was located. To my shock, La Senza had just closed their operations in Australia. I was gutted.

I am not the type of person to allow a little thing like withdrawing from a country to get in the way of the underwear that I loved. I logged on to their main website (based in Canada) and began searching for a way to get it to Australia. Luckily they ship internationally … they must understand how important a girls underwear is. The shipping wasn’t going to be cheap so with this in mind I thought I better make use of this situation and really stock up. La Senza were offering a special of 7 cotton panties for just CAD $28. Bargain. I’ll take 2 lots. This is what I ordered: Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
