3M Futuro For Her Slim Silouhette Wrist Support

I suffer from Carpel Tunnel Syndrome caused by RSI and because I refuse to give up blogging and using smart devices (the cause of my repetitive motion) I need to find a way to deal with the symptoms. Previously I shared a review of Futuro’s nighttime splint which definitely isn’t suitable for wearing during the day. I’ve bought a selection of daytime wrist splints but the one I’m reviewing for you today was my very first.

I’ve been wearing the Futuro for Her Slim Silhouette Wrist Support every day for over 9 months. I couldn’t be more ready to share my judgement.  Continue Reading

3M Futuro Night Wrist Splint Glove

I love working online but there’s a very serious downside to the constant typing I endure on my computer and phone, day and night. I’m in my mid-late 20’s and already have fairly debilitating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I have none of the common risk factors to have developed this problem at such a young age other than the repetitive use of my hands and wrists for typing. I’d heard of a Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) occurring in people older than 40 years of age but rarely in someone my age. As my doctors and physiotherapists would come to agree, I’m a rare case.

Most sufferers of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome will first experience their symptoms at night and feel fine during the day, but mine is so advanced now that I experience pain 24/7 and excruciatingly more during the night. The most effective relief for the symptoms of CTS is to wear a splint to stabilise the wrist joint and keep the hand in a comfortable resting position. In my case, I need to wear it all day and night but most splint designs can become uncomfortable after just a couple of hours wear. Having to wear one 24/7 means I need it to be extremely comfortable.

During the day I’m currently wearing a 3M Futuro for Her Slim Wrist Support but in the evening I want a change, especially because my day one needs a wash every second day. When I heard 3M had released a version for sleeping I was keen to try it. After wearing it for over a month I’m ready to share my review.  Continue Reading
