The Joule Hotel Dallas Texas Review

My recent trip to the USA was in part to attend a blogging conference, held at The Joule Hotel in Dallas, Texas. As I do when I’m attending any conference, I choose to stay at the hosting hotel to make getting around easier. It allows me to keep focused on the job at hand rather than wasting time on traveling to/from the venue multiple times a day. After spending 4 days and 3 nights at The Joule Hotel I’m happy to share a review of my stay.  Continue Reading

Celebrity Beauty

Celebrities are often thrust into a position of being publicly ridiculed for their looks but despite this some celebrities not only embrace it but actually turn it into a business. I think it’s genius if you can take your position of being a face for beauty and turn that into a business venture, and that’s what these 7 female celebrities have done. Interestingly it’s also worth noting just how many celebrities care about being cruelty-free. From makeup to sunless tanning, these smoking hot women know how to market their unique beauty to the masses.  Continue Reading

Laughing woman smile with great teeth

Would you consider your dental hygiene part of your beauty routine? I do, and you should. Having healthy teeth makes a big impact on your appearance but it is often the most neglected part of a beauty routine. I understand why that is though, it can be tedious and boring, it isn’t colourful like makeup and it doesn’t feel nice like skincare, and looking after your teeth can often remind you of the dreaded dentist …. BUT … think of it this way, if you don’t look after your teeth you will be at the dentist sooner and more often than you want to be. As an out-and-proud lazy girl (actually, not necessarily proud of it) I know how easy it is to forget about your teeth but I do everything in my power to keep my teeth healthy so my trips to the dentist are pain-free. I have never needed a filling (touch wood) … and that I am proud of!

I am not going to preach about the importance of professional cleans and regular check-ups because you probably know just how important it is. What I am going to tell you about is how you can keep your teeth healthy, at home and with minimal effort.  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
