Beauty Gift Guide for Beginners

When I was a teenager I was very curious about makeup and beauty products, and I was extremely lucky that I had a mother who never stopped me from exploring that interest. My mother wasn’t a major consumer of beauty products but she owned makeup and I had seen her use it, and she went to the beautician every now and then but to me it was like a foreign world that I longed to explore. My mother would let me buy little makeup kits or palettes every now and then, or she would buy me them as a treat, and thinking of this memory it hit me that they were some of the best gifts I had ever received.

I’ve posted a number of Beauty gift guides over the past few weeks but this one I’m dedicating to the girls and women who are just toeing with their interest in beauty. Whether it be you or someone you know, someone aged 8 or 48 … there comes a time for most women when that interest is sparked, and when nurtured and allowed to run free it can grow to become something wonderful. someecards.com - All this anxiety about my hair turning grey is turning my hair grey.

I wouldn’t call myself an “expert” on Anxiety but if I were to rank my level of expertise based on personal experience I guess I would say I am an expert. I have battled anxiety and depression all my life, and recently I told you all about it. Even if you aren’t a suffer of full blown anxiety chances are at some point in your life you have been nervous or anxious. They are natural human emotions and there is nothing wrong with admitting you suffer with it. However, there is something wrong with anxiety when it causes you bad beauty habits.

When my anxiety would flare up the first thing I would do is turn to one of my many destructive beauty habits. Biting my nails, pulling out my hair, biting my lip … the list goes on. I have caused near permanent damage to myself on certain occasions when I couldn’t control my anxiety, and I know I am not the only one.

Today I am going share with you how I got over each of the bad beauty habits I would turn to when suffering anxiety. Some of these tips may even help you break bad beauty habits you have that are unrelated to anxiety so have a read and tell me what you think.  Continue Reading

eBook Cover with Price

Today I am very excited to announce that my very first eBook,  The Essential Beginner’s Guide To Working With Bloggers, is on sale!!!

One of the things I love about blogging, aside from getting to chat to fabulous readers about the topics I love, is getting to work with business owners and publicists who are passionate about their brand or service. They are always teaching me something new about the things I love, but I often hear from them how hard it is to learn about the world of blogging and new media. As a new media consultant (through my company Virtual Premier) and a passionate advocate for the blogging medium, I know how hard it is for those who don’t have experience with us to understand what bloggers do and how we do it. This is where inspiration hit me to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, in this case) and write a book just for the business people out there, so I give you The Essential Beginner’s Guide To Working With Bloggers eBook.

Who is this book for?

This eBook is for business professionals in any market, in any niche, in any category that want to have their product or service featured on blogs. I may be a beauty blogger (and dabble in fashion, travel and lifestyle) but this book is for anyone who wants to work with a blogger of any sort. If you are one of the following, you NEED this book:  Continue Reading
