Posts in Erika Wood

The lovely Miss Erika is back today to share her mind-boggling discovery. You may remember her from such smash hits as the evo Mane Prescription review. In my opinion, the below story is CLASSIC Erika. It will also give you some delightful insight into what I deal with amongst my own friends (namely, never listening to me!).

Enjoy!

The Review

This product changed my life. Ok, ok I’ll admit it didn’t really change my life, but it certainly changed the outcome of my DIY nail painting attempts, the frequency in which I now paint my nails and the growing collection of nail colours I’m accumulating!

BRQDTC (Before Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat) like many who don’t use a top coat, I used to be a frustrated nail painter. After painstakingly painting two coats of colour I used to sit in front of a fan, use a hair dryer, put my hands in the freezer, immerse my hands in cold water, anything I could think of to dry my nails and after 30 minutes or more of these drying techniques and trying to pick things up with my toes, I would finally think my nails were dry… and then I would either: Continue Reading

Today we have a guest post from a lovely friend of mine by the name of Erika Wood. She is funny, quirky and I think you may like her. I hope this will be the first of many pieces from her, but to start she is going to tell us about a new discovery in her beauty life.

The Review

I’ve just returned home after nearly five months basking in what seemed like an eternal European summer. A summer spent sunning myself sailing the coast of Croatia, bathing in the most beautiful and translucent pale blue ocean in Turkey, exploring the magical grottos surrounding the Isle of Capri, lounging around the beach clubs in the Greek Islands, posing on the private beaches along the French Riviera, catching some waves in San Sebastian and hmmm where was I going with this… Oh of course! So after returning from my gallivanting, I realised that not everything I brought home with me was basking in a summer glow.

Not exactly Erika, bit it is a lovely picture!

Fortunately we’re not talking about my skin, which is just as well considering I slathered myself with 50+ SPF sunscreen every day, not to mention the large sun hats and beach umbrellas I accessorised with whilst catching some vitamin D. My hair on the other hand Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
