Over the past couple of days I have shown you my mothers journey through Fillers and Freezers. We started at the beginning with some before photos and the backstory then we moved on to the graphic treatment photos but now it is time to show you the aftermath and some of the picks from the wedding.

Now I do want to declare I am a terrible photographer and probably need a photography class or two, so photographing the results of the treatments wasn’t easy for me. I will admit my photos probably do not show anything close to how they appeared in real life so I hope my caption descriptions can guide you a little bit at what to look for.

Yesterday I began telling you about my mothers journey with fillers and freezers in the lead up to my brother/her son’s wedding. Now I am going to show you the photos from her treatment. I wanted to do these series of posts for two main reasons:

  1. To show you what really happens during an injectables treatment.
  2. To show you how much of an improvement someone can achieve with the correct products, the correct needles and the correct hand.

Before we begin, lets refresh ourselves with a before shot.

This is just one photo. Jump back to really see the wrinkles.

I have to tell you that this post (or series of … yes, there will be more) has been a long time coming. The preparation for this post started way back on 22 December 2011. My brothers wedding was exactly 1 month away and as this is the wedding of her first born (and the favourite child. Don’t bother arguing with me mom, I know the truth!), she was freaking out about looking good. Of course my answer to her worries were simple, fillers and freezers (often known by brand names such as Botox, Juvederm, etc).

Before I continue, let’s look at some before pictures of my mother, shall we?

Earlier this week I showed you why buying fillers over the internet is a big no-no. Missed it? Oh boy, jump over here right now!

For a long time I have wanted to cover off everything one could know about fillers, but it is a huge category. Where do I start? Well, after doing the post on Wednesday I thought I should start by asking an expert some basic questions. Seeing as though the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (CPSA) are the ones who care so much about keeping the industry safe, they would probably be my best bet.

Dr Susan Austin has a long list of credentials in dermatology and runs her own successful skin clinic in Sydney. She also happens to be the Public Relations Manager for the Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (CPSA). So, who better to give us the low down on basic Filler knowledge?

These were the questions I thought were super entry level to learning about fillers, but I would love to hear from all of you what exactly concerns you about Fillers. What do you want to know? What are your questions? There will be many more posts on Fillers, I guarantee that, so why not get the answers you want.

Considering fillers? What should you expect during your initial consultation?

Not all treatments are suitable for every patient and the best results are achieved through a personalised treatment plan. The initial consultation with an appropriately trained cosmetic physician is critically important when considering cosmetic medicine. During an initial consultation a cosmetic physician should undertake a full medical history, discuss any concerns you may have and clearly explain your treatment options and to ensure the final result is what you’re aiming for. It’s also vital that you have a realistic expectation of what can be achieved.

Most non-surgical clinics will offer programs for remediation and then maintenance, which usually run for a period of up 12 months. It is also important to remember to look holistically at the program as it should ideally address three key issues: skin quality, wrinkles and volume.

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
