Over the past few months I have been testing out this really cool product. When I first heard about it I was so excited because word was that it could temporarily soften fine lines and puffiness. Now like most women I had thought I had those problems. I swear I had crows feet and if you gave me a 12x enhanced mirror I could show you them …. Continue Reading

Female hand holding colorful shopping bags

With the Australian dollar being so strong at the moment, you may be finding it difficult to resist the temptation to jump on an LA bound flight to stock up on your beauty faves. The fact I live near Sydney Airport is especially difficult because if it wasn’t for the electric fence I would jump over and stow myself neatly in an over head compartment when no one was looking. Desperate much?

Well thankfully I don’t have to this week because I am heading to Las Vegas for a Blogging conference. Yes, they actually have a conference for that!

So what do you do if you can’t quickly make up some job related hoopla to get yourself over there? Order online! The Aussie dollar is almost on par with the USA, the pound is at an astounding 60 pence or more, and then there is the Canadian dollar that we are a mere .002 cents off equal. It is crazy times and god knows it might not last for long.

My advice is to take advantage while you can. Be adventurous, and if you have never tried online shopping, now is the time! Unfortunately there are still many sites that don’t offer shipping to Australia and it is a huge loss for them (*cough* Sephora), so let’s focus on the sites that do recognise our fine country as a profitable market.  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
