Health tips for your period

There is nothing that affects our appearance and wellbeing as much as our hormones do, specifically at a certain time of the month. Periods and the female reproductive system are a topic we tend to avoid unless we are trying to get pregnant, and other than that occasion we probably haven’t even discussed it with anyone since our high school sexual education class. I want that to change today because I know from personal experience how much it can mess with how I feel on the inside and how I look on the outside.

I’m going back to basics with the help of Naturopath, Kinesiologist & Nutritionist, Cassie Mendoza-Jones, to give you five things you need to know before your next cycle, including how to stay healthy, keeping pain at bay and her secret remedies/ products she trusts.  Continue Reading

Tampax Pearl Super 18 pack

Women’s business is never a fun topic but I think it is an important one we shouldn’t shy away from. Just like all beauty categories, feminine hygiene is one that sees new developments discovered and new products released. Most of the time we will just wander down the personal care aisle at the supermarket, pick out the brand we know and trust, and use that until menopause comes knocking but there actually might be something out there that can provide you a more comfortable experience. I try to change things up once in a while and it has always worked in my favour. I figured I would show you some of the new feminine care products available and maybe next time you visit the supermarket you will find yourself trying something new.  Continue Reading

I won’t lie, reading the name of this product makes me blush a little. I am not a prude by any means, but when it comes to beauty products, we rarely have to talk about ‘down there’. Frankly we don’t really have to talk about it because there aren’t exactly a huge amount of products in the marketplace. In Australia, the only ones I know of are Femfresh and Summer Eve, neither of which have a name that inspires purchasing. Canadian entrepreneur, Ritz Clinging, saw a HOLE (hehe, get it??) in the market and set forth with creating her own range. I Love My Muff was born.

When I heard about this product my brain went in two separate directions. Continue Reading

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
