If you missed last Tuesday’s post about serums, you would have missed me ranting and raving about how important serums are. You definitely should have at least 1 serum as part of your daily skin routine if you are wanting to improve your skin or prevent ageing. Over the weekend (although you may have seen it sneaking up earlier last week) Estée Lauder officially released their newest serum, Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator  into Australia.

From the things Estée Lauder are saying about this new product, it would seem it is less a preventative product and more of a repair product. I am glad Estée Lauder has been honest about this products powers. It is far more realistic to believe that a serum could help repair lacklustre skin tone rather than prevent it from going dull in the future. I think we all know by now that the key to preventing bad skin tone (as well as many other things) is using a good sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF protection.

What I Say ….

  • The packaging is typical Estée Lauder. Classy, not too fancy, pretty and simple.
  • It comes with a Continue Reading

Before I say anything I want to warn you that this post is long. I mean, LOOOOOOOONG. If you are a regular reader of The Plastic Diaries you will notice I like to post about a full collection in its entirety. That means they can be long posts, but they’re comprehensive. You are probably wondering why I do that. Well, I personally don’t like to google for collection swatches and only find 1 colour out of the 7 released. It just means I have to keep searching, keep clicking and keep wasting precious time. So, for those time poor but highly interested people out there like me, I do it all. Of course, I can’t do this for every collection that is released (I would need to be a trillionaire with 14 arms), so I limit them to which collections I think are going to be a real smash hit, ones I personally love, ones I think you will love and/or ones simply being released at the time I have some cash to buy it. Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
