The leather trend is inescapable right now and it doesn’t look like it’s fading anytime soon. I’m probably the last one to get in on the action but as a vegan I’m careful with the fashion items I buy. In this day and age no one has to die for us to look good. I admit I was avoiding anything that looked remotely like leather because I didn’t know if I would’ve been tempted to buy something I really didn’t want to. A few weeks ago I discovered there was absolutely no reason to worry because the majority of items I was lusting after were actually made with vegan leather! I couldn’t believe how far the industry had come in making synthetic leather look like the real thing, feel like the real thing and last even better than the real thing.

I want to show you my new vegan leather purchases and I have created a wishlist of other items you would never believe use vegan leather as well. I am not just talking cheap, unknown brands. Big designer brands such as BCBGMAXAZRIA, M Missoni, Calvin Klein and Michael Kors are just a few who are now utilising vegan leather in their designs. YAY!  Continue Reading

The Styleless Diaries full logo with diary

It has been a while since I last discussed the state of my wardrobe and sense of style. Fashion isn’t my thing and that is exactly why I created The Styleless Diaries. I kind of need to have a sense of style for my job as a beauty blogger because I go to lots of lovely events and meet with lots of people from brands and public relations agencies (all of which dress fabulously!), but it is such a foreign concept to me. How does one put together a fashionable outfit and not look like a mess?

Well, over the past year I have been trying REALLY hard to buy good, not-too-trendy pieces. Over the past 8 months I have been slowly culling my wardrobe of all the items I can’t/won’t/shouldn’t wear but it has left me with very little to wear … well that and the staggering amount of weight I have put on.

My goal during this time has been to rebuild a solid wardrobe containing classic, wearable pieces that make me look good no matter how they are styled. I wanted good quality items that will be versatile enough for any occasion. I think I did ok but I want to show you my recent purchases in hope you can help me. All of these were bought during 2012 and obviously before my new vegan lifestyle so there are some items I would definitely not purchase now, however, I feel like disposing of them would actually mean that the animals who gave to create those items were in vain. This is the reason I am not getting rid of any items I already own but I most definitely will not be buying any new animal product items moving forward.

Here they are, my latest fashion purchases:  Continue Reading

Getting back to showing you what I picked up on my last trip to the US of A, no shopping business trip would be complete without a stop at ZARA.

We recently welcomed ZARA to Australia and I was blessed as my hometown of Sydney were up first to get one, but despite many attempts to shop in the Australian store, I had zero luck finding anything I really liked. My experience with ZARA in the USA has always been a good one, always coming out with multiple overstuffed bags. Out of the 5 or so times I have been to ZARA in Australia, I have only walked out with one item. Now it wasn’t because there weren’t items I liked, but all the items I liked were sold out in my size. In fact, the one item I have bought from ZARA was actually from their ‘tween’ section.

It was a crazy day when ZARA opened in Sydney

The point of the above story? Continue Reading
