The Styleless Diaries full logo with diary

It has been a while since I last discussed the state of my wardrobe and sense of style. Fashion isn’t my thing and that is exactly why I created The Styleless Diaries. I kind of need to have a sense of style for my job as a beauty blogger because I go to lots of lovely events and meet with lots of people from brands and public relations agencies (all of which dress fabulously!), but it is such a foreign concept to me. How does one put together a fashionable outfit and not look like a mess?

Well, over the past year I have been trying REALLY hard to buy good, not-too-trendy pieces. Over the past 8 months I have been slowly culling my wardrobe of all the items I can’t/won’t/shouldn’t wear but it has left me with very little to wear … well that and the staggering amount of weight I have put on.

My goal during this time has been to rebuild a solid wardrobe containing classic, wearable pieces that make me look good no matter how they are styled. I wanted good quality items that will be versatile enough for any occasion. I think I did ok but I want to show you my recent purchases in hope you can help me. All of these were bought during 2012 and obviously before my new vegan lifestyle so there are some items I would definitely not purchase now, however, I feel like disposing of them would actually mean that the animals who gave to create those items were in vain. This is the reason I am not getting rid of any items I already own but I most definitely will not be buying any new animal product items moving forward.

Here they are, my latest fashion purchases:  Continue Reading

I know I say this every month can you believe how quick this year has gone? It is November and that means we are only weeks away from Christmas and New Year. I don’t know about you but I haven’t even thought about Christmas shopping yet. While November is a rather quiet month in terms of new products being released, it is a big month for all the Christmas specials to be announced so keep an eye out for lots of gift guides I will be posting soon.

In the meantime, check out these beauty favourites that are on sale this month. I think you will probably find an item or two you will want to add to your own Christmas wishlist.

Until recently I had never heard of the brand Pevonia Botanica, but since they have been all over Twitter lately it is hard to avoid them. Now that I have read more about them, I was keen to try some of their products and the first one on the chopping block for review is their Dry Oil Body Moisturizer. I was drawn to this because of its pump bottle, but is that enough for me to call it a winner?

Perfumes and fragrance are something I openly admit knowing very little about. For me it is up there with wine and cuts of meat. Wouldn’t have a clue. Yesterday an email popped into my inbox from The Fragrance Foundation Australia and it was something I found very helpful. Why, you wonder?

When people ask me what fragrances I like I usually say sweet, because I know I like the smell of sweet things. Funnily enough ‘sweet’ isn’t an actual fragrance family, so taking a look at this Top 20 list gave me the chance to see what family I tend to like. Turns out, I go for a Soft Floral or Floral. I think that is strange because Continue Reading

I don’t think I have mentioned this yet, but this year seems to be the one I have missed out on my beloved activity of sleeping. I love sleeping. I can’t think of a better pass time. If you can keep it between you and me, I actually like sleeping more than playing with make-up or dreaming about what cosmetic procedure I want. Well, actually, I usually combine the two. Most of my sleeping dreams involve going under the knife or shopping in Sephora. Wow, reading that back almost makes me realise I am shallow ….. key word was ALMOST. Continue Reading

NIVEA Cooling Sunscreen review

Aerosol sunscreen is becoming a more popular choice but in this NIVEA Cooling Sunscreen review I’m introducing you to a sunscreen feature you never knew you needed. It’s life changing and I love it, but does this one benefit counteract NIVEA’s Ultra Sport Protect Cooling Aerosol SPF50+ defects?  Continue Reading

End of Year Sales Fashion Shopping Inspiration

The Boxing Day and End of Year sales are in full-swing. While this can be a fab time to pick up a great deal, it’s not such a money saver if you buy things you don’t need or really want. Having a shopping list of what to buy is one of my most valuable tips for being a savvy sale shopper. However, I’ll admit that sometimes there are things out there I didn’t know I needed. Sometimes, I need someone to introduce me to the things I didn’t know (or forgot) I needed. That’s what I’m offering you some end of year sales shopping inspiration by sharing some of the great goodies I picked up during the Cyber Week sales.

These are the beauty and fashion goodies I got during Black Friday, Cyber Weekend and Cyber Monday.  Continue Reading

Deciem Hylamide High Efficiency Face Cleaner

Finding a good face cleanser shouldn’t be difficult but for me it’s one of those things I’m always looking to improve. I was recommended the Hylamide High Efficiency Face Cleaner as an all-in-one solution for makeup removal and skin cleansing. I have dry skin and I’m lazy, so I want quick and easy without compromising on quality results.  Continue Reading
