Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup is a beauty brand that has long been committed to not testing their cosmetics on animals. Their line of skincare-infused makeup has been certified cruelty-free by PETA but now they are taking their commitment to animals one step further. I’m very happy to share the news that Jane Iredale is now officially certified by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) and are now part of the Leaping Bunny Program.
In case you missed our feature, The Truth About Cruelty-Free, the Leaping Bunny program is the only internationally recognised program for cosmetics free from animal testing. The CCIC is a respected animal protection organisation that grants brands cruelty-free certification if they meet the strict & comprehensive standard of the Leaping Bunny program. Their requirements go beyond whether a finished product is tested on animals – the focus is on companies eliminating the unnecessary use of animals in the testing of products and ingredients, further disallowing third-party testing on animals for product registration purposes (i.e. selling a product in China). Ultimately if you’re shopping for cruelty-free beauty products make sure they are certified by the Leaping Bunny program otherwise there may well have been animal testing along the products journey to the store.
