Best vegan beauty products

I’m honoured to have a guest post from one of my favourite vegan bloggers, Chelsey from Like A Vegan. Proving that veganism isn’t all about eating lettuce and wearing Crocs, Chelsey shows us how wonderfully colourful life can be as a vegan. And she is hilarious. No lectures, scare tactics or horrifying images of mutilated animals. Chelsey brings humor, fun and energy to life without cruelty – and now she is doing it here with this awesome post about her favourite vegan beauty products.  Continue Reading

Blue Gradient Eye Liner Tutorial
Gradient liner is pretty, helps elongate the eyes, and is a great way to add a pop of color to your look whether you are looking to slowly expand into more colorful looks or simple just prefer a subtle touch of color. I chose a subtle blue, which I find compliments my brown eyes. You can substitute any color scheme you want!  Continue Reading

Australian Indie Nail Polish Swatches

Glitter nail polish is all the rage these days, with mainstream brands such as OPI and Face of Australia releasing glitter nail polish left, right and center. But did you know that the trend was started way back in 2011, when enterprising women began creating their own polishes by hand, mixing glitter with clear nail polish base? The indie nail polish scene has exploded in popularity recently, and Australia is no exception. We’ve gained a massive reputation overseas for original glitter combinations and a great formula. Go Aussie!

There’s a lot of Australian indie brands out there to wade through, so for the uninitiated, I’ve put together a brief introductory rundown of most of them. For those who are already familiar with the indie scene, you might discover (or rediscover) a brand you didn’t know about before!  Continue Reading

I admit I am terrible with the animal print trend. I always see people totally rocking a leopard print scarf or giraffe printed dress. I am just too scared so the best way I know how to embrace the animal print trend is with nail art. Today we have a fabulous Giraffe-inspired animal print manicure thanks to fabulous Kristie, the blogger behind Blushing Basics.

Kristie is so kind to share this tutorial with us and I think you will love it, so let me hand over to her to fill you in.  Continue Reading

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
