Do you own a hair dryer? It sounds like a ridiculous question but after briefly polling some of my friends I found out that many of them didn’t have one. They owned other heat styling tools – straighteners, tongs, hot rollers ….. but not a hair dryer? It intrigued me and had me curious about what hair dryer I would recommend to someone looking to buy their first. My lightbulb thought was to go back to basics and review some new entry-level hair dryers, and I’m starting with the 2000W hairdryer from VS Sassoon’s Luminous Collection. Continue Reading

Eeeek, is that really the date already? I know August is well and truly over but I can’t pass up sharing my favourites for the month. As for the delay in posting it, well, I blame New York Fashion Week. You’ll soon see why that took up so much of my time.
It was a somewhat slow month for new launches, with only 28 new products gracing my desk, but nearly all of them grabbed my attention and many of them will be fronting some big advertising campaigns over the coming months. I’m sure this won’t be the first nor last you see of them Continue Reading
It’s been a slow start in the world of beauty launches for 2014. In fact it is so slow I just thought I would have a lazy start to the year and take a month to share my favourites. Most of the industry really kicks up the new launches from February, but some brands wanted to sneak in early and make an impact in January.

“Romance Was Born continues to push the boundaries this year with a 60’s/70’s inspired collection. Popping multi colours, psychedelic pastels and Disney princesses are the inspiration behind the designs and the hair look. The signature blunt cut fringe of Peggie Moffitt, short sharp asymmetrical bobs in assorted lollipop colours will take the audience on a magical, mysterious tour,”
“I’ve created four hair looks, all based on Peggie’s blunt cut fringe and mushroom shaped bob. Each hair look has been individually cut and coloured to match each outfit in the collection. Essentially, the models will grace the catwalk in a complete coloured look – think, multi-tonal colour blocking – a psychedelic candy land has come to life.” – Alan White, ghd Hair Director
“We are so excited to work with Alan and ghd again this year; we really wanted to take it to another level. We have been having a lot of fun looking at new shapes and colours, it’s very inspiring!” – Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett, Romance Was Born Continue Reading
Hair Director: Sophie Roberts for ghd
“The hair concept is minimal – we were inspired by the clean, simple and carefree look of how a model would tie her own hair up for a casting or a fitting. Without aspiring to, this look exudes stylish elegance in a modern, chic way. It is very much atoned to the Alex Perry collection.” – Sophie Roberts
“Sarah Murdoch inspired the hair look for me. I love how she effortlessly throws her hair back into a loose chignon and still looks so beautiful and elegant,”
“I love working with Sophie Roberts and ghd. She is such a fantastic stylist and so well respected. We have a long, ongoing working-relationship together and it’s been brilliant working with her again this year.” – Alex Perry Continue Reading
