Bikini Ready Summer Body

In Australia, we are clutching to the few remaining summer days. Above the equator, people are excited to welcome some warmer days. Whether you are about to enter spring or autumn we all have summer on our minds and the hopes it will roll around quickly. This is the time most people need to start planning what they will to do to get a great summer body, and if you want something quick and effective you really can’t beat a cosmetic enhancement or two.

In this Summer Body Guide I have asked Dr Cath Porter from Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (CPSA) and some cosmetic enhancement experts to tell us which non-surgical treatments will help you to achieve a body you will be proud to flaunt on the beach.  Continue Reading

Over the past couple of days I have shown you my mothers journey through Fillers and Freezers. We started at the beginning with some before photos and the backstory then we moved on to the graphic treatment photos but now it is time to show you the aftermath and some of the picks from the wedding.

Now I do want to declare I am a terrible photographer and probably need a photography class or two, so photographing the results of the treatments wasn’t easy for me. I will admit my photos probably do not show anything close to how they appeared in real life so I hope my caption descriptions can guide you a little bit at what to look for.

Yesterday I began telling you about my mothers journey with fillers and freezers in the lead up to my brother/her son’s wedding. Now I am going to show you the photos from her treatment. I wanted to do these series of posts for two main reasons:

  1. To show you what really happens during an injectables treatment.
  2. To show you how much of an improvement someone can achieve with the correct products, the correct needles and the correct hand.

Before we begin, lets refresh ourselves with a before shot.

This is just one photo. Jump back to really see the wrinkles.

I have to tell you that this post (or series of … yes, there will be more) has been a long time coming. The preparation for this post started way back on 22 December 2011. My brothers wedding was exactly 1 month away and as this is the wedding of her first born (and the favourite child. Don’t bother arguing with me mom, I know the truth!), she was freaking out about looking good. Of course my answer to her worries were simple, fillers and freezers (often known by brand names such as Botox, Juvederm, etc).

Before I continue, let’s look at some before pictures of my mother, shall we?

Now that 2011 is over we can take a look back and reflect on some of the past trends. No trend interests me more that plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancement. Despite the fact I don’t believe these procedures should be ‘trend based’, it is hard to ignore that certain trends do appear, especially when there are new breakthroughs of advancements.

I spoke with Dr Scott Ingram, Australian plastic surgeon and Vice President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) about what we saw in 2011 and what we can expect in 2012. Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
