Posts in Invisible Zinc

Continuing on from yesterdays theme of ‘Brands Everyone Has Tried Except Me’, I finally tried out a product from Invisible Zinc. Being someone that is so pro-sun protection I find it strange that it has taken me so long to try the brand. The company started way back in 2003 with a giant splash. This is a brand that knew what they wanted to do and how they wanted to do it from day dot. Recruiting Elle McPherson as their official face was a wise move and launching with big budget tv and print campaigns made it clear they were putting in an effort.

So why did it take me so long to try Invisible Zinc? Honestly it came down to the word Zinc. I have always hated the stuff since my only recollection of it was the thick blue or green stuff that got smeared on my nose as a child. I was already self conscious about my oddly shaped nose, I really didn’t want it highlighted …. Literally!

When Invisible Zinc came out I instantly doubted that it would be ‘invisible’. I thought it would still be a really thick version of sunscreen, that was super white and would never blend in. I convinced myself it wasn’t worth the effort and that was the end of that. Fast forward to end of last year when Adore Beauty was having a free shipping offer and I was in the mood to shop. I stumbled across this light tinted version with a broad spectrum (UVA & UVB) SPF 30. The thing that drew me in was the ‘brush-on’ applicator thinking that if it is thick, at least the brush will make it easy to blend. I bought it …. and here is what I think of it.

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
