OPI Coca Cola Nail Polish Collection

BREAKING NEWS is the announcement that OPI have joined forces with Coca-Cola Companies to create a very exciting nail colour collection. This is a huge win for those who are fans of the sugary drinks but can’t necessarily consume them in the amount they would like. Think of it this way, no amount of nail polish applied to your digits will cause you diabetes!  Continue Reading

OPI Liquid Sand Bond Girls Honey Ryder Swatch 1

I have a feeling I wasn’t the only one who had a big weekend. To ease back into the working week grind I thought we would take a look at one of my favourite nail lacquers right now. The Bond Girls collection by OPI were a 6-piece ensemble of Liquid Sand lacquers, the newest texture innovation from OPI. The matte finish is unique as it remains sparkly without a top coat.

Each hue is named after an iconic Bond girl from the James Bond 007 movies. I have chosen to show you Honey Ryder because it’s a beautiful colour to wear year round and goes beyond a standard gold lacquer. This shade reminds me of a glass of champagne – the bubbles reflected by the texture of the lacquer. It would be a perfect choice for the upcoming festive season if you aren’t keen to wear red and green.  Continue Reading

No offense to Mariah Carey but OPI have totally just blown their celebrity collaborations out of the water. Gwen Stefani ….. No Doubt lead singer, L.A.M.B designer and harajuku lover has teamed with OPI for a 7-piece limited edition nail lacquer collection. Cue the screaming girls in hysterical excitement.

On sale from January 2014, we have only managed to grab a look at 6 of the 7 upcoming releases. We have the official description but one lacquer is being held very close to OPI’s chest. We are just dying to see it!  Continue Reading

New Release Beauty Favourites August 2013

*BLINK* Did you see that? I think it was August. It just flew right past my face! It has been a jam packed month for me with the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo taking place, as well as a calendar full of beauty launches and media events. I have played my way through nearly 175 new products that launched in August, and that is excluding the fabulous new products I discovered at the expo. As always it was incredibly difficult to pick out the products that truly captured my attention. I have to say the month of August really did show off just how innovative the beauty market really is.

I hope you find something new to discover in this months best new beauty product launches. Continue Reading

Hair Expo Australia is one of my favourite ways to spend a long weekend. Each year the Australian and international hair industry comes together to put on a weekend of learning, demonstration and celebration. Taking up two massive halls at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, and countless convention rooms, the industry comes together and creates a vibe that can only be experienced to understand. The one word that comes to mind is unity. Of course every business and hairdresser are forever competing to be the best in their field, but on the weekend that is Hair Expo it is like there is no competition, just friendship and a place to enjoy what they love. What that means for me is a place where I feel in my element to explore beauty, and while Hair Expo is not a “shopping” expo and it is for trade only, it places me in a state of mind where I just want to spend. I want to try everything and anything. So at the few stands who were selling things that I didn’t already own, I bought some items that were on my wishlist. Here is what I hauled: Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
