Top 50 Beauty

When you hear “Top 50 Most Influential People in Beauty” few would think a beauty blogger would fall into that selection. You would probably think of celebrities, fashion designers, makeup artists, beauty retailers and frankly anyone other than a blogger. However, for one very well deserving blogger, it’s undeniable that her influence is far greater than many of those you may initially consider and it has been cemented by the fact she has been included on a list created by one of the world’s leading authorities on the matter.

WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) is the industry insider in all things fashion and beauty. A few days ago WWD Beauty Inc announced first annual list of the power players who are shaping the beauty business today. You will see in the list below that there are a few surprises (including one of our favourite Australian retailers) but one that is no surprise to me or anyone that reads her blog is that of Christine Mielke of TemptaliaContinue Reading

I am so excited about this competition I really could burst. You all know I love giving away things, but even more than that I love Make Up For Ever. I love their Aqua Creams, their HD Foundation and I always love their limited edition releases. If you aren’t as familiar with the brand as you want to be, then this competition is your ultimate chance.

MAKE UP FOR EVER is a professional cosmetics brand founded in 1984 by artist Dany Sanz.

By now I am sure you have all heard the whispers and maybe even seen some reviews of the new, and first ever, Benefit skincare range b.right! Radiant Skincare. Well today it goes on sale in Australia, so that means you can actually head into a retailer near you and try/buy the products you have heard about.

If you have heard nothing about this new line than you are in the right place because today I am going to share with you my thoughts on two of the products. My intentions are however to give more of the products a try so there will be more reviews of this range coming soon-ish.

Why A Skincare Line?

First things first, what is this line about? So after decades of creating amazing cosmetics and some noteworthy ‘skincare’ items (such as You Rebel, a tinted moisturiser with SPF) the brainy whiz kids currently at the Benefit helm, Maggie & Annie Ford Danielson, decided it was time to give their customers what they have been asking for. A skincare line that looks after our skin and works just as well when used in combination with make-up (something a lot of skincare doesn’t do).

Most of you may not be aware that Benefit is owned by Moët Hennesy Louis Vuitton (aka LVMH). The parent company owns many brands, including other beauty companies such as Dior, so this has allowed Maggie & Annie a chance to access some of the best the world has to offer when it comes to skincare.

The Range

The debut skincare line is quite large, in my opinion. I love the packing and think Benefit have NAILED it. The caps look like corks and the heavy glass jars look great to display. This is a collection I would be happy to have on show.

Without further a due, here is the range:

  • Foamingly Clean Facial Wash – AU $38 / US $21
  • Refined Finish Facial Polish – AU $40 / US $22 / UK £17.50
  • Triple Performing Facial Emulsion SPF 15 PA++ – AU $45 / US $28 / UK £19.50
  • Total Moisture Face Cream – AU $59 / US $38 / UK £26.50
  • It’s Potent! Eye Cream – AU $58 / US $32 / UK £23.50
  • Moisture Prep Toning Lotion – AU $49 / US $29
  • Remove It Make Up Remover – AU $38 / US $21 / UK £16.50
  • Ultra Radiance Facial Re-Hydrating Mist – AU $47 / US $26 / UK £19.50
All fields look to be covered, but the one thing I am finding conflicting Continue Reading

Ok so let me start at the beginning because this news is super important! A few days ago, while doing my thing (which is shopping up a storm) in one of the Sephora locations in Las Vegas, I made a very interesting and rather informed connection. The first thing I found out from this lovely person (lets call them Mr X, but it doesn’t mean they are male … or female) is the news that brought me to tears …. Continue Reading
