Posts in Mariah Carey

I am beyond excited about the upcoming Disney release of The Great & Powerful Oz. The Wizard of Oz is still one of my all time favourite movies and I have no doubt this prequel will answer some of my many questions about that magical original cinematic masterpiece. The fact it stars James Franco is just the cherry on top of a very large ice cream sundae. But leaving that aside for the moment, I am now even more excited to hear that the next movie alignment for OPI will in fact be this Disney hit-to-be. That’s right, there will be a nail polish collection for The Great & Powerful Oz …. and I have the first look, sneak peek for you today!  Continue Reading

On Saturday I showed you the first glimpse of Mariah Carey’s upcoming nail polish collection with OPI. This is the first of two collections she will be creating with the mega nail brand and today I am super excited to show you the bottle images for the entire 8-piece collection.

Mariah Carey by OPI

Not a thrilling name but the Mariah Carey by OPI Collection (part 1) does contain some thrilling shades. The collection is broken down into two parts. The first are the Studio Shades which includes 1 dazzling glitter, 1 shimmer and 2 creme nail polishes. The second part are the Stage Shades, which I showed you on Saturday and feature the innovative new Liquid Sand texture.

Shade Details

Here are the official descriptions by OPI of the new shades.  Continue Reading

I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Mariah Carey or her music. I was more in to rock music during her heyday and I found her squealing to be a little irritating. Having said that, now that she is collaborating with OPI on her own nail polish collection that may just change my opinion of her.

The first image has just been released showing Liquid Sand, one uniquely textured subcategory to her collection. In August, WWD reported that Mariah Carey had signed on for two collections. The first collection is scheduled to be released globally in January and includes eight new shades. The second collection is scheduled for later in 2013 but the number of shades are yet to be announced.

Today OPI released the following image showing four of the new nail polishes slated to come out this January. Liquid Sand has been dubbed as OPI’s latest innovation, and describes itself as a matte glitter texture. It sounds super strange to me but I can’t wait to get my hands on some to play with.   Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
