Maybelline NY Baby Lips Loves Color Lip Balm Flat Lay

Baby Lips have been THE runaway hit in the lip balm category. It seems no matter who you stop on the street to ask a lady which is their favourite lip balm, the answer is “Maybelline NY Baby Lips” 97%* of the time. I am definitely one of those girls and I couldn’t have imagined in a million years that Maybelline could improve on the Baby Lips phenomenon. But they did. How? They added colour!!!

Ahhh yes. Colour. I totally forgot about that stuff. Maybelline took the already fabulous Baby Lips balm and added some hot tints to them, resulting in Baby Lips Loves Color lip balm. So far there are 4 shades in the collection and I am going to show you the full lip swatches as well as share my review.

Maybelline NY Volum' Express The Falsies Everlasting Mascara

Wearing mascara in summer is usually one of my most painful tasks. Summer is the worst time for my allergies and my eyes water like a fountain. They sting, they burn and I constantly feel the need to rub them, so you can imagine wearing mascara isn’t the most pleasant thing. Not so long ago, right in the middle of one of my morning tear-fests, the new Maybelline New York mascara landed on my desk. It made bold claims about being flake-proof, smudge-proof and the most powerful waterproof formula Maybelline has ever created. Of course I wanted to put it to the test and see if it would withstand my weeping.

Most mascaras, even waterproof, will never get through a morning with my allergies. If it isn’t smudging it is usually bits breaking off and landing in my eye. The claims of Maybelline’s latest release in the Volum’ Express The Falsies franchise gave me hope, but did it work? I think my review will answer that for you.  Continue Reading

I find January can either be a slow month for new releases or a crazy jam packed month. This year, I am finding it a little quiet so picking my favourites from the bunch were a little easier. The biggest category is definitely colour, with lots of new nail polish and makeup lines to keep you drowning in a rainbow coloured pool.

Let’s take a look at what has me buzzing this month. Continue Reading

Drew Barrymore has been the face for Lancôme and CoverGirl in the past decade but now Drew is tackling a new frontier with her very own colour cosmetic range called Flower. Professional beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries shares her personal blogger burnout story and experience

This article is Part 1 of a three-part series about my personal experience with Blogger Burnout – My Demise + My Recovery + My Future

I started The Plastic Diaries in 2008, became a full-time blogger in 2010 and vanished from the blogging universe in 2015. Where did I go? Why? What happened to me? These are questions that have been asked of me during my 18+ month disappearance. The short answer was blogger burnout – a rarely spoken of condition that is fast becoming a serious concern amongst the influencer industry. Have you ever followed a blogger and notice that one day they have just disappeared? Their blog stopped posting new content, their social media went untouched – it happens often. In my almost 9 years of blogging I have lost count of the bloggers that have come and gone, most of which I have no idea why or where they went.

Upon my return to blogging at the end of last year I’ve put off explaining what exactly occurred in my life. I confided in a few select friends and trusted individuals about my story but I’ve brushed over it with the wider community by saying the cause was “personal stuff”. I don’t believe bloggers owe anyone an explanation when they disappear but I know that when my favourites have gone AWOL I’ve missed them and been concerned for their wellbeing. I didn’t want to be another blogger who vanished without a trace and leave you wondering. I also believe Continue Reading
