You would think the nail gel market is overflowing but the big wigs at Essie feel otherwise. Despite the competitive market between CND Shellac, Bio Sculpture Bio Gel, Gelish, OPI Gel Color and more, Essie plan to launch their own professional gel service, Essie Gel, this coming October.
Gerald Densk, Essie’s general manager for the professional products division of L’Oréal USA, has told WWD that gels are a growing market and it isn’t something they can afford to ignore. It is obvious to most that Essie is not receiving the same interest from salons as it does from consumers so this could be a good move for them to get more salons using their products.
