Australia Post Shoes Parcels

If you don’t know by now, I’m a huge advocate for online shopping. It’s convenient, crowd-free, ‘prams & strollers running over your feet’ free, you can shop at any time, in any place and wearing whatever you want. I’ve been online shopping since I got my very own credit card but back then no Australian website dare had their own online store. Today things are a completely different picture.

Online shopping finally reached mainstream status early in 2013 with Australians who don’t buy something online now being classed as the minority, according to leading research company Roy Morgan. As a personal witness to just how much things have changed over the last 10 or so years I want to share interesting tidbits about online shopping in Australia.

Which sites do Australians shop from the most? What are Australians buying online? Which Australian online stores do I love? Read on to find all this out plus more.  Continue Reading

Samantha Wills Belle DeJour Ring Aqua Angle

Samantha Wills is an Australian jewellery designer I have admired for as long as I can remember. I first discovered her pieces when I was working in magazines and they would send their jewellery in for use in the fashion spreads. I would see lots of the stylish editors donning her jewels and vowed that one day I would be one of them. It may have taken 10 years and an amazing sale but finally, I own a Samantha Wills ring.

If you aren’t familiar with Samantha Wills, you are probably thinking the jewellery must be thousands of dollars from the fact it took me 10 years to buy a piece but it is actually really affordable. My new ring, the Belle Dejour, retails for just $64 but I have never been able to justify investing in jewellery before. In fact, if you have been a longtime reader you may remember when I revealed that I only started understanding the importance of jewellery. However, by the time I had come to realise that jewellery was a necessity in creating a stylish outfit I owned my own business and that meant limited shopping funds for me.

I stalk a few bargain shopping sites and one of them is Ozsale. I was a member of their site since they opened but I actually hadn’t purchased anything until this year. I recently purchased a great wrap dress from Events and i thought I hit the jackpot, but when I saw they were having a Samantha Wills sale I teared up with excitement.  Continue Reading

Professional beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries shares her personal blogger burnout story and experience

This article is Part 1 of a three-part series about my personal experience with Blogger Burnout – My Demise + My Recovery + My Future

I started The Plastic Diaries in 2008, became a full-time blogger in 2010 and vanished from the blogging universe in 2015. Where did I go? Why? What happened to me? These are questions that have been asked of me during my 18+ month disappearance. The short answer was blogger burnout – a rarely spoken of condition that is fast becoming a serious concern amongst the influencer industry. Have you ever followed a blogger and notice that one day they have just disappeared? Their blog stopped posting new content, their social media went untouched – it happens often. In my almost 9 years of blogging I have lost count of the bloggers that have come and gone, most of which I have no idea why or where they went.

Upon my return to blogging at the end of last year I’ve put off explaining what exactly occurred in my life. I confided in a few select friends and trusted individuals about my story but I’ve brushed over it with the wider community by saying the cause was “personal stuff”. I don’t believe bloggers owe anyone an explanation when they disappear but I know that when my favourites have gone AWOL I’ve missed them and been concerned for their wellbeing. I didn’t want to be another blogger who vanished without a trace and leave you wondering. I also believe Continue Reading
