Nail polish is a total obsession for me lately, and no matter how many I have I always want more. More. MORE! I am on a pretty strict no-buy rule right now as I am saving for so many things but there is always something shiny (and glittery) to suck me in. On a couple of occasions, I have been tossing up whether to buy a new nail collection and it happens to sell out just when I made the decision to buy it. Heartbreaking. So today I thought I would put it writing exactly what I want, and then hopefully that will help to stop thinking about them all the time. That sounds like it could work, right? Continue Reading

Would you consider your dental hygiene part of your beauty routine? I do, and you should. Having healthy teeth makes a big impact on your appearance but it is often the most neglected part of a beauty routine. I understand why that is though, it can be tedious and boring, it isn’t colourful like makeup and it doesn’t feel nice like skincare, and looking after your teeth can often remind you of the dreaded dentist …. BUT … think of it this way, if you don’t look after your teeth you will be at the dentist sooner and more often than you want to be. As an out-and-proud lazy girl (actually, not necessarily proud of it) I know how easy it is to forget about your teeth but I do everything in my power to keep my teeth healthy so my trips to the dentist are pain-free. I have never needed a filling (touch wood) … and that I am proud of!
I am not going to preach about the importance of professional cleans and regular check-ups because you probably know just how important it is. What I am going to tell you about is how you can keep your teeth healthy, at home and with minimal effort. Continue Reading
Maybelline New York has a whole heap of brand new products launching this month, and the first one I am going to review is this hot new collection of lipsticks call Color Sensational The Shine Lip Color. The collection contains 10 hot shades of lipstick perfect for any season.
What I Say ….
- I love the packaging. The lipstick bullet is Continue Reading
I won’t lie. The morning may have started off a little rusty after a little dinner session with Katie Cazorla the night before. I totally blame Katie. She is a bad influence. However, I had no time to be rusty because Day 2 of Cosmoprof North America kicked off bright and early at 8:30am.
Day 2 was all about brands. I wanted to see some brands, experience some of the products and get a glimpse of new releases. Nails seemed to take centre stage on this day and I will be doing a separate post to show just all the amazing stuff we can expect to see over the coming months.
Manicurist extraordinaire, business maven and surprisingly talented singer, Deborah Lippmann, was extremely kind to offer up her morning to sit with us beauty bloggers to discuss her new collection. If you aren’t familiar with the Lippmann Collection of nail lacquers than you are missing out big time. They are just beautiful!
Deborah talked us through her inspiration behind how she comes up with colours, and it is crazy. Here are some things I learnt that I never knew.
- Deborah started out in life wanting to be a Jazz singer. She still sings and has released an album, but it is more of a recreational focus.
- All the names of her nail lacquers name are actually names of songs.
- She will often have to create colours for celebrities or fashion designers based on their outfits … sometimes with only hours notice.
- All her lacquers are 3 free (free from Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP) and not tested on animals.
Aside from all that, the most refreshing thing about Deborah is how down to earth she really is. She is entertaining, amusing and genuinely sweet. Go girl!
Details: Deborah Lippmann lacquers are available in the US and Internationally. You can purchase online from Beauty Bridge (International Shipping available) or visit the website to find your nearest stockist.

Oh, shower gels. Will I ever get bored of trying new shower gels? Ummm, no. Because if I stopped trying new ones, I would never find the golden picks just like I did with this one.
Rainbath from Neutrogena is probably one of those shower gels I would look at in my chemist or supermarket and easily dismiss. It isn’t pink, or girly, or have pictures of yummy fruit on the front, all of which usually grab my eye and end up in my shopping basket. However, if you are a regular reader, you would know that girly scents aren’t exactly something I run for. I love masculine scents … and no, not just on males. I like to wear them. Don’t ask me why. I am weird. We all know that. And I know that not everyone out there likes girly stuff.
I have received a few comments from friends about products such as Shampoo, Conditioner and Shower/Bath Wash. It would seem there are many people out there who have 1 product for the household to share. Whether it be for economic reasons, or they just have a partner who insists on using your things despite the fact you bought him his own. This is where Unisex products come into play!
What I Say ….
- The packaging is effective, simple and aesthetically pleasing. A uniquely shaped, hard plastic bottle with a large, flat black hand pump.
- The pump pack is exactly what I like for products that remain in a wet environment, such as a shower. It means the contents are within easy reach but stay completely free from contamination. This one in particular is easy to use and you don’t have to pump it a million times to get any out.
- Explaining the actual scent Continue Reading
