Holster MASQUERADE STUD WEDGE

Sandals are not my thing, especially jelly sandals. I am not a beach person (actually, the beach terrifies me) and the feeling of hot sticky plastic glued to my feet in summer is my idea of a nightmare. But I do love the look of them. In the last 12 months we have seen jelly shoes and sandals make a huge comeback. They are far more fashionable than they used to be when I was a child, but are they more comfortable? I insisted to anyone that would listen that they would still be horribly uncomfortable, even though I hadn’t actually tried a pair in years. Then I was challenged. Holster Fashion, a globally renowned Australian maker of jellies footwear, believe their jellies are the comfiest available and offered me to choose a pair to prove me wrong. When I looked over the designs on their website it didn’t take much arm twisting for me to say, “ok …. give it your best shot”.

My dislike for jellies tracks way back to my childhood. Not only did I hate the sticky feeling you would get on a scorching hot Aussie summer day, but they had zero arch support and as a dancer (I started ballroom dancing at age 4) it pained my feet to walk around completely flat footed. My concerns are still present today with most shoes and when I look closely at even the most expensive shoes very few have arch support. I know I sound like a grandma right now but arch support is imperative in a casual shoe, and it can make all the difference to your posture.

When it came time to actually pick a Holster style I liked it was challenging. I liked at least half a dozen but I settled on the Masquerade Stud Wedge Sandals in Champagne colour. Here is my review of the sandals.  Continue Reading

Tangle Teezer and Dessata hairbrushes

Detangling hairbrushes are available from just about everywhere now but when it comes to trusted brands there are a few to choose from. In this post I’ve got Tangle Teezer vs Dessata in a battle of the detangling brushes. Both are priced almost identically (here in Australian anyway) so which brush is worth your dollars?

For this battle I’ve selected the Tangle Teezer The Original to go up against the Dessata Maxi Detangling Brush. I own three Tangle Teezer brushes – The Original, Compact Styler and Aqua Splash – but for this post I’m comparing The Original as it’s the most popular model. Read on to find out which might be the best detangling brush for you.  Continue Reading
