Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara Double Eyes

The ScandalEyes range from Rimmel is continuing to grow this year but before we move on let’s take a close look at their final release for 2013, the ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara. The unique brush wand is teamed with the popular ScandalEyes mascara formula to achieve a thick looking lash reminiscent of a popular 1960’s trend. Or does it? Read my review and check out the before/after photos to decide whether you should whip out your mini dress.  Continue Reading

FOTD Super Quick Makeup Tutorial

I’m terrible at getting ready in the morning. If I know I don’t have to see anyone until the afternoon I will stay barefaced and wear track pants until the last minute. That means I usually have only 10 minutes or less to throw on my makeup for a meeting or event.

This look was put together with not a minute to spare as I ran to a meeting. My goal was for a sheer but luminous complexion that wasn’t too heavy, an open-eye because I had been running on 5hrs sleep all week and some colour to liven me up with a sweet cheek and punchy lip. Recreate my look with these instructions and products.  Continue Reading

Spring Clean Makeup Bag

Spring is almost over for me but I still thought I should do a little spring clean of my makeup bag before I hit summer. I like to pick out a bunch of new products to keep in my makeup bag for an entire season, and occasionally change out one or two products when I am trialling. I don’t like to trial all new products at the same time because if I have a bad reaction to something I won’t be able to narrow down the perpetrator.

The contents of this makeup bag is the makeup products I used mostly throughout Autumn. These are my day-to-day products which I like to keep neutral or trans-seasonal so when I am in a rush I can throw it on and know I won’t look out of place. All my other makeup is within easy reach so if I feeling like something different I can grab an eyeshadow or lipstick to change it up.  Continue Reading

Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Eyeliner Group

They made my favourites list in December because of their colourful take on eyeliner and the ballsy promise of 10-hour wear, but how have they gone with my punishing testing criteria over a sweltering Australian summer? Let’s face it, Rimmel is “London”. A quitessential British beauty brand. How good could they be at creating a “waterproof” product suitable for the sweaty mess of Australian heat wave. Unfortunately, I hate to say it but their is just no scandal with these liners ….. they do everything they say. Having tested 10 of the 15 ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners in the range I am ready to reveal my complete verdict and show you the swatches.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
