Posts in Shatter Collection

Regular nail polish coated acrylics seem to be a thing of the past these days. The ever expanding business of nail stylists, nail innovators and nail art blogs & bloggers, has inspired women all over the world to get creative with their digits. It was not too long ago that the only way to get intricate nail art on our own fingers was to seek out a delightful oriental nail spa in Chinatown where ladies with brilliant eyesight drew designs freehand. Now, things are becoming far more mainstream.

Some very exciting news came our way over the weekend. Worldwide beauty powerhouse, Sephora, have taken notice of this increasing beauty trend and decide to embrace it like a Jewish mother embraces a gay son (ok I am assuming that one, but I know I would like to have a gay son!). They have recruited British nail extraordinaire, Sophy Robson, to curate a massive collection of DIY nail art.

If you follow some of the great US beauty blogs than these images will not be of any news to you. Although, I am sure you have been patiently waiting for the new OPI collections to hit our shores, just like me. One of those collections we have been dying to get our hands on is the new Shatter Collection.

I broke the news about this collection way back in March and advised that we were meant to have this in our Australian retailers on May 1. Obviously something went ka-put because May 1 came and went but there were no pretty coloured shatters to be seen. Not to worry now though, if you have still been patiently waiting than you don’t have much longer to go. I have been informed that this collection will be making their way into stores in July so start clearing those credit cards!

Today I am showing you the official swatches, ahead of getting my hands on some of the real bottles to swatch myself. These swatches are painted over

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
