Foreo Luna Mini Device

It only occurred to me recently that despite my numerous mentions of Foreo’s Luna devices, I hadn’t actually shared a full review. Bad blogger! After nearly a year on sale internationally, the Foreo Luna face cleansing tools finally went on sale in Australia this past March. They launched with the Luna and the Luna Mini, the latter of which I’m reviewing for you.

I chop and change which face cleansing tools I use but in the electric devices category I’ve always loved the Clarisonic. To be fair, it was a genius innovation for its time but now there is competition in the sonic face cleansing market. Can Foreo convert me to the dark side? Read on to find out. Continue Reading

People For Plants rosehip, ginkgo, shea DAY CREAM

Organic skincare is nothing new but would you believe that most of the brands that claim their product is 100% organic are actually telling a few fibs? The fact is that there are so many organisations offering organic certification but none of them have the exact same standards. The People for Plant range is certified by Australian Certified Organic (ACO), Australia’s largest certifier for organic and biodynamic produce, responsible for certifying more than 70% of the Australian organic industry. They’re one of the strictest but that is exactly what PFP co-founders wanted. It’s also the reason you won’t see “100% organic” smacked on their packaging. Each PFP product lists the actual percentage of certified organic ingredients – like this day cream at 91.8%.

Anna Addicoat and Andrew Brown founded the brand with their good friend Jamie Durie (yes, THAT Jamie Durie) and as you would expect from Jamie’s love of plants, they only wanted to use the best in their product range. I’ve been learning a lot about this range since it launched in June 2013 and that is why I’ve chosen their Day Cream as the first review. Is it amazing or complete hogwash? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Professional beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries shares her personal blogger burnout story and experience

This article is Part 1 of a three-part series about my personal experience with Blogger Burnout – My Demise + My Recovery + My Future

I started The Plastic Diaries in 2008, became a full-time blogger in 2010 and vanished from the blogging universe in 2015. Where did I go? Why? What happened to me? These are questions that have been asked of me during my 18+ month disappearance. The short answer was blogger burnout – a rarely spoken of condition that is fast becoming a serious concern amongst the influencer industry. Have you ever followed a blogger and notice that one day they have just disappeared? Their blog stopped posting new content, their social media went untouched – it happens often. In my almost 9 years of blogging I have lost count of the bloggers that have come and gone, most of which I have no idea why or where they went.

Upon my return to blogging at the end of last year I’ve put off explaining what exactly occurred in my life. I confided in a few select friends and trusted individuals about my story but I’ve brushed over it with the wider community by saying the cause was “personal stuff”. I don’t believe bloggers owe anyone an explanation when they disappear but I know that when my favourites have gone AWOL I’ve missed them and been concerned for their wellbeing. I didn’t want to be another blogger who vanished without a trace and leave you wondering. I also believe Continue Reading
