How To Prevent Crows Feet Header

Crows feet are often the first wrinkles women start to notice on themselves. Those fine lines branching out from the outer corner of our eyes reveal so much about how we care for ourselves. Dehydration, sun damage and repetitive face movements are the most common causes of crows feet. Before you go grabbing a needle filled with Botox, no matter how much damage you have already done you can still prevent further damage. For those of you who are yet to see the signs of crows feet forming, now is the time to take my tips into action so you can prolong having to take any drastic action in the future.

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for using injectables and fillers when the time comes, but a few changes in your daily life can make an impact (and my tips are all much more cost effective). Continue Reading

The Hand Book Nail Art Kester Black Bday Gift

A few weeks ago I celebrated my 27th birthday. Ok, it wasn’t so much a celebration as a day of applying hydrating face masks and bathing myself in anti-aging cream. Nevertheless, the day had rolled around and the one thing I begged my family and friends for this year was NO PRESENTS. I am kind of (read: totally) a hoarder and the last thing I needed was more useless stuff no matter how pretty it is. And then there is the fact I buy every single beauty thing that takes my fancy so there really isn’t much left to get me. But of course, they didn’t listen however for once I am actually really glad they didn’t consider my pleas. This year, they knocked it out of the park so I thought I would show you what I got because it may just help you to find a gift for someone really difficult in your life. And let’s not forget, Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Continue Reading

When I splashed out less than $20 on my bib necklace haul from Nordstrom, I also picked up an item I had been lusting after, an Equipment Signature Silk Shirt in Bright White. This is technically my first new investment piece in my wardrobe revamp and based on the rave reviews this shirt gets, I couldn’t have picked a better item. So, what do I really think of it and most importantly, how do I wear it?  Continue Reading

The last time I wore pants I was crucified, and rightly so. I looked shocking and it put me off trying pants ever again. BUT here is the deal, I need pants. It is winter in Australia, I am freezing cold, and I am sick of shoving my fat thighs into tights which only gives me a massive muffin top and then pulling the tights up every few minutes so the crotch isn’t at my knees. Can you tell this has been bugging me a little?  Continue Reading

I am currently trying to clear out the “crap” from my wardrobe and stock it with really good basics. It is something the fashion experts always tell us to do, but until this year I never really understood it. Now as I get older I realize my wardrobe is chocked full of clothes that were trendy too many years ago. They look dated and just plain wrong. Plus, with my recent weight gain, all the good pieces I had no longer fit.

One of the items right at the top of my list is a silk (or silky) white shirt. One that I can wear for business and for casual. Tucked in or loose. Comfortable but not bulky. Oh and definitely not sheer (I am too old for that). But it is proving to be impossible.

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Dermaquest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser

Face cleansers are seen as quite an underrated product in terms of our overall skincare needs, but they’re actually really important. The correct cleanser for your skin should remove dirt, debris and build-up that otherwise gets in the way of your other skincare products delivering their best results. A vast majority of skin issues can be activated simply by using the wrong cleanser. When it comes to anti-aging, it’s essential to not use a face cleanser that is drying or stripping. Hydration is key, and that’s one of the major claims behind the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser.

As I continue my fight against aging and dry skin I’ve tested the DermaQuest Stem Cell 3D Facial Cleanser. Is it worth the price tag? Read on to find out.  Continue Reading

Female Hair Loss Before and After

Female hair loss and hair thinning are a growing sector within the beauty market. I used to think female hair loss was a beauty issue and as such could be treated with beauty products. Self-inflicted hair loss is my most common concern. I blamed my tight braids, hair irons and chemical damage. However, the fact remains that the leading causes for female hair loss are health related.

When my normal amount of hair fall dramatically increased, with noticeable receding of my hairline, I panicked. I didn’t know where to begin with treating it but I couldn’t understand why it was happening. I’d stop styling my hair in tight do’s, I rarely heat style and I haven’t dyed my hair in almost 2 years. I ruled out self-inflicted hair loss so I went straight to my GP (doctor) to ask for advice. It turns out that my female hair loss was completely reversible for less than $20!  Continue Reading

Beauty blogger Kimberly Nissen of The Plastic Diaries reviews Trefiel Lace Face Mask, Moisturising sheet mask skincare.

If you follow beauty on Instagram it’s highly likely you’ve seen the Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask. They look like a piece of black lace, often seen adorning the faces of cute beauty influencers. What they actually are is a range of sheet masks. Really pretty sheet masks.

The Trefiel Lace Sheet Mask is available in four formulations – Moisturising, Brightening, Repairing and Toning. Trefiel initially launched with just the Moisturising mask but later rebranded and added 3 more masks to the line-up. I chose to review their original Moisturising Face Mask.  Continue Reading
