Within the last month, news broke that many beauty lovers had spotted MAC Cosmetics products being sold at their local Target store for a surprisingly reduced price. Many of you would realise that this is a very strange occurrence because MAC have very strict distribution rights, and in Australia it is ONLY sold at MAC Counters (in David Jones and Myer stores, MAC Pro Stores and on the MAC Australian website. Target has never been known as a stockist of MAC Cosmetics. Many savvy bloggers instantly put on their investigation hat and started to look into the how and why of this new MAC stockist.

The biggest concern for most consumers is if the products are from the Grey Market (fraudulent copies that look like the real thing). Many of you have asked for my opinion on the matter and before I made any comments I wanted to hear what both MAC Cosmetics and Target had to say on the matter. Yesterday I received an updated statement from Target and before I share it with you, I want to run you through the story so far.  Continue Reading

Wrinkles on your face are super scary. Your skin loses its shape, its fullness, its youthfulness ….. but there is so much to fix that. One area that never gets as much attention is our neck and décolletage. We can do all we want to make our faces look young but if your neck and chest is wrinkly I promise you that you will still look old and haggard. The only way to keep a fresh, youthful face looking that way is to keep your neck and chest just as fresh and youthful. Today I am sharing my skincare secret tips to avoiding the ‘young face, old neck’ look.

Getting a flawless finish with makeup is not so easy, even for many seasoned professional makeup artists. As I have always said, the best way to get flawless makeup is with a flawless canvas, but we can’t all be blessed with the skin of Emma Stone (damn her milky clear skin!). Laura Mercier is a makeup brand that believes all good makeup starts with flawless base makeup, so their complexion products are some of the best in the business.

Today I am going to show you my attempt at creating the ‘Flawless Face’ as per Laura Mercier’s 4-step technique. Continue Reading

I am ashamed to admit this but I had never tried a Molton Brown product until just a couple months ago. I won’t say I had a good excuse, because I didn’t. Frankly, I thought the product packaging looked so good that I couldn’t possibly afford it so why should I try it only to get addicted to something I cannot afford. But I got over that when Molton Brown launched their Australian online store because I love to support a beauty brand that realises the important of having a good e-commerce site in Australia (for those not Australian, you would be shocked how rare it is!).

So here is my first review, Paradisiac Pink Pepperpod in one of the famous Body & Shower gels.

Best Vegan Skincare Brands

Everyone has their own opinion on what skincare should do and be, but for me it’s all about aiming for perfection. I don’t want skincare that does the bare minimum and let’s me age gracefully. I only want to use skincare that WORKS – constantly improving my skin and getting it to function at it’s very best. That’s why I’m sharing with you the best vegan skincare brands.

People often confuse my choice to be vegan as somehow meaning I don’t care about my aesthetics any more. They couldn’t be more wrong! My strict standards for top performing skincare isn’t lessened by my cruelty-free choices. If anything, it makes my standards even higher.

There’s a misconception that cruelty-free and vegan skincare is unable subpar; that they’re less effective than animal-based skincare formulations. While this may have been the case decades ago when vegan skincare exclusively meant “natural” products with little to no scientific basis, skincare development has come a long way since then. Don’t get me wrong, there are still hundreds of natural skincare brands out there that do exactly what I don’t want – they don’t improve your skin, they just make it feel and smell nice – and there is a market for those. Not everyone is deathly afraid of aging like me. However, if you strive for clear, healthy and progressively improving skin despite the years passing us by, than I have exactly what you need.

My list of top performing skincare brands will introduce you to the changemakers. The hard-working, highly efficient skincare that allows you to take charge of your own aging appearance. And it just so happens they’re also the best vegan skincare brands too!  Continue Reading
